´･ω･` The organization of Miss Universe Colombia hosted the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Colombia 2020 at Barranquilla, Colombia, just a few hours ago where Laura Olascuaga (represent Bolívar department) was crowned as the new Miss Universe Colombia 2020 and has earned the opportunity to represent Colombia at Miss Universe pageant next year.

Miss Universe Colombia 2020 is now under the guidance of national director Natalie Ackermann. Miss Universe Colombia decided to branch out from "Señorita Colombia Organization" recently.

Laura is 25-years-old and stands 1,78 cm tall (5 ft 10 in) and had shown immense dedication towards winning the title and represent her country of Colombia at international stage.
She has a degree in Social Communication and Journalism from Universedad del Norte. She was one of our favorites for the title as well ´･ω･`

Laura is not new to the pageantry as she participated in “Señorita Colombia 2018” and was adjudged as the first runner-up (Virreina Colombia 2018) at the end of the event finale.
As 1st runner-up Laura had the right to represent Colombia in the “Miss International pageant” but she resigned from the position by stating: “They are personal reasons, but I do think that (resigning) is the best for my peace of mind.
This has to do with many things, also with my rest, my future, everything that is coming, my projects, and because I feel that it is a closed cycle.”

Laura further mentioned that she wanted to spend some time with her family as the process of preparing for the reign completely consumed her.
After taking a break from the pageants, she has worked with various designers and photographers that has helped her gain experience and focus more.

´･ω･` Laura Victoria Olascuaga Pinto was born on June 19, 1995 in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) ´･ω･`
She has a degree in Social Communication and Journalismat the Universidad del Norte.

In her free time, she enjoys a boat ride with her family, practices Boxing, Kangoo and plays the violin.

She stated that she is very blessed and thankful for all the opportunities she has received till now and for her stint at Miss Colombia 2018, she mentioned:
“I am very happy with the contest, I am very grateful for everything I learned, but another contest would be too much. That opportunity must be for someone who really wants..... Obviously I prepared myself, like everyone else, to be Miss Colombia, and I had won, obviously I would have continued with the whole process.”

The diva describes herself as spontaneous woman who likes to talk about things with people and understand them better. She also explains that she loves to share with people and attend events and much more when helping those most in need. She is supportive and an animal lover.

For Laura, being a beauty queen and representing Colombia at Miss Universe 2020 stage means representing the strength, dedication and passion of Colombian women who today are occupying an important position in society and are being listened to.

With the list of potential candidates being prepared for the competition, Laura Victoria Olascuaga Pinto seems like
a potential choice to win the third Miss Universe Crown for her country!

Served as judges: Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Señorita Colombia 1967 Luz Helena Restrepo (competed in Miss Universe 1968 and won the Best National Costume award)

They were joined by Amalín de Hazbún, Natalia Barulich and Pilar Guzmán Lizarazo.

Not everything is Happiness in this first reign of "Miss Universe Colombia".
Shortly after her coronation, criticism of her rained down like stones = she is accused of an advantage over the other candidates and of favoritism of the organization. Is this true?

The thing is, they failed to acknowledge that she is Filipina, not just Australian. They could have said “a woman of Filipino and Australian descent” in Spanish but instead, they chose to refer to her as an “Australian who represented the Philippines” in Spanish, which makes her look like some foreigner handpicked to represent the Philippines although this is not even Catriona’s case, given that she even won a child beauty pageant in the Philippines (the Little Miss Philippines pageant?) prior to fully settling in Australia. The worst part was “Catriona Garay” - that can be another person.

Overall, the pageant is a complete joke - at least I never covered it, and I feel bad for her, given that she was happy about this ar first.
