If you took out all the speaking parts, she could have easily beaten everybody (beauty of face, catwalk, SS, EG, etc.) and won the crown.

I take that back. She wasn’t the correct skin color. Even if she had aced everything, she — and everyone else who was not South Africa — still wouldn’t have won the crown.

For those who do not speak French, here is a translation of their discussion:

Rafa: Hello, my name is Rafa, I speak French, huh.

Maëva: You speak French?

Rafa: Yes, so, I'm doing a Facebook live.

Maëva: OK, hello everyone. (in French and in English)

Rafa: What are your first impressions in the United States? It's the first time?

Maëva: So, this is not the first time in the United States, I had already come to Los Angeles to compete for Miss France for the month of preparation.

Rafa: Did you like it a lot? Los Angeles?

Maëva: Yes, Los Angeles, I really liked, I also really liked Atlanta, it's a very very beautiful city, a bit like you can see in the US, there are big towers everywhere, it's very very beautiful.

Rafa: And except you, who do you think will be the Top 5? Except you?

Maëva: Oh, I hope to be in it. I think we can find Miss Brazil there...

Rafa: She is beautiful.

Maëva: She is very beautiful, very kind too. Then, Miss Thailand.

Rafa: Yes, of course.

Maëva: Well, let's say France anyway! And then after, we have other very pretty girls, Miss Colombia too.

Rafa: Miss Colombia, she is strong.

Maëva: She is very beautiful, Miss Haiti too, who is very pretty. Uh... there! There are five of us.

Rafa: The obvious question, what do you think about Miss Philippines? Do you think it is possible for the Philippines to win again?

Maëva: Yes, I think it is always possible to win because you have to know that in France, we have won 3 times in 4 years... Girls from Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Rafa: Yes, your region.

Maëva: Yes, my region.

Rafa: You're from Nord-Pas-de-Calais, OK.

Maëva: I am a Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Iris was Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Rafa: Yes, I know.

Maëva: And Camille Cerf too!

Rafa: Camille Cerf, yes.

Maëva: So, I think nothing is impossible for you, so it's a chance but yes maybe, she is very beautiful and also very kind so I think she can reach the Top 5.

Rafa: OK, good luck. Do you want to say something to your fans?

Maëva: (answers in English)

End. Lol

If the format was swimsuit and then evening gown, Gazini will made the top 5 . But I doubt she will made the final 3.

She is much better being spontaneous (such as in the chat with Steve Harvey, and obviously in the prelims interviews) than in delivering a prepared speech, so she would have surely made it to the Top 5 without that opening remark; at the very least she would have charmed her way to the Top 3.

HERE WE ARE AGAIN WITH THE INTERVIEW ONLY TO INVOLVE MISS PHILIPPINES.

YES, MAEVA'S JOURNEY TO MISS UNIVERSE WAS ALL ABOUT MISS PHILIPPINES.

True. But not in this particular edition, though. You had to be black first to fit the Black Magic narrative of 2019.

You did not have to be black to reach the top3, which the overrated Gazini failed to reach by a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG shot.

The only thing that matters is the crown, reserved only for a black woman. And no one was specifically talking about Gazini in the particular conversation above. You are responding to the wrong conversation.

The topic is about Gazini though.
The cro<n was reserved only for someone intelligent classy and beautiful. Gazini didn't fit the bill.

Doesn’t really matter what her place was. In the end they’re all LOSERS. Only the crown matters.

The Philippines definitely made a mistake sending a bimbo to Miss Universe. Happy now?

PS: Intelligent, yes. Classy and beautiful? We didn’t watch the same pageant. South Africa is ugly. Just plain ugly — no going around it. And being a LIAR, she’s certainly not classy. [-X

Beauty is totally and entirely subjective. According to judges (the only ones who matter) Zozi is the most beautiful of the universe. Don't nobody give two fucks about your opinion.
Being overweight is not. Gazini was overweight and rehearsed. The judges didn't even let her pass the top20.

Could-a would-a should-a.

In the beauty department, the girl was no slouch. She was GORGEOUS! We don’t know what happened in her interview and we all know, talking wasn’t her forte. She actually made a believer out of me, but maybe she blew it behind closed doors! I also didn’t think her preliminary performance was a standout. I think sash carried her there and even that was barely enough to get her into the top 20. Anyway, we’re happy with her placement and we are proud of Gazini. Let’s all move on. There’s absolutely no need to talk about other’s opinions on how it should’ve turned out for Gazini. it’s done and Miss Universe 2019 is absolutely perfect for the job! She also made a believer out of me the night she won. The girl is sharp and she is actually very beautiful inside and out! I didn’t see her winning the crown, but when she got in Top 5, it was all hers in my opinion.

Beauty is subjective??? Ha ha ha! Bingo! You just used THE CLASSIC EXCUSE for justifying ugliness. :%))

Beauty does not need any explanation. Especially not a doctoral dissertation and a defense. We shouldn’t even be debating it.

SUBJECTIVE BEAUTY = THESIS BEAUTY.

Zozibini Tunzi is ugly and the fact that she’s a liar simply makes her ugly inside out.

Subjective beauty... what an excuse. Ha ha ha ha ha! You just emphasized how ugly she is.
=;)) =;)) =;))

WRONG. Beauty is NOT subjective. Facial symmetry is not subjective. Softness or sharpness of features is not subjective. Head proportion is not subjective. Skin quality is not subjective. Beauty is beauty and ugly is ugly — it’s only whether beauty has impact on you that’s subjective. Even psychologists have conducted studies on the scientific metrics of beauty.

And don’t think for a second that the judges were not aware of Zozibini’s ugliness. That was not an issue for them, since anyone could always dismiss her ugliness as, “Beauty is totally and entirely subjective,” exactly the way you just did. Even character was not important to them, which was how a liar, a gaming carpetbagger, and a bitch comprised the top three. The goal was to crown a black, intelligent-sounding woman, and they got exactly that.

Gazini is gorgeous. Dumb, but unquestionably gorgeous.

Zozibini is ugly. Getting the Miss Universe crown doesn’t change the fact that she’s ugly. And she’s a liar, too? Then she’s just ugly through and through.

Oh, and France? Seems to be a nice person; she was actually a pre-arrival fave of mine. But she looked old during the pageant, and very dated in that horrible gown and lackluster in her walk. If she didn’t slip, she wouldn’t have gotten the sympathy votes for the finals.
