The US really has nothing to offer, so it’s not a surprise the girls will be spending their time inside the hotel for rehearsals and more rehearsals!

The good thing, though, is that they’ll get to eat =;)), unlike that poor joke of a pageant recently held in the crime capital of South America whose contestants are now suffering from food poisoning...

Catriona Grey's reign didn't really transcend into an excellent fundraising and attraction of sponsors to the point that no one would host the pageant. As usual, it came back to the United States. It's time to revamp Miss Universe standards plus it's better to kick IMG out of the scene. Too much focus on advocacy and political correctness simply didn't work on stage. Here's a common sense - if I am the sponsor do you think I will donate even a single cent to Miss Universe org advocating fat ugly women who do not have self-discipline? NO WAY!

There is a lot to do in USA, idk what you're talking about. When it was in Doral there were a bunch of events set up for them. When Miss World had it here they did so much. They even went to NYC to the statue of liberty and Broadway. When they had it in LA they also had events, some of them even went on tv shows. IMG doesn't know how all of this works. Even in Vegas in 2017 when Miss USA was held there, there were events like a swim suit fashion show, photoshoots for active wear. For sole reason Miss Universe ends up in boring locations. Idk why, can they please come to NYC!

What a shame, half of those days are for registration and rehearsal. I get what others day in keeping it short and sweet but they raised up the fee and cut all the activities and events. What did they raise it because they're IMG and they value themselves more than they should? I wish Ford Models would've bought Miss Universe, I remember they had the Miss World United States franchise for a couples years and won a crown.

And this is what Sierra Bearchel wanted ...clap, clap, clap.

Beauty superficial. I just wonder how they can find that intelligent confident girl with just 10 day. No activities at all, just in hotels and rehearsals !!!!

The new Miss Universe will just be for good TV. (Paging Sierra Bearchell)

It's not even 11 days....its 9. 28-29 is just arrivals, so really it only starts on the 30th which is the final day of registrations - so you could get there as late as 29th night.

It's one thing to be a short pageant but if previous Miss Universe editions in the US are any indication, the girls will do absolutely nothing. This is not even enough time to get over jet lag for a majority of delegates. Imagine traveling 4-5 days (back and forth) for a 9 day contest. It is an insult, especially considering how much effort and expense many of these girls have put into this.

MUO's EVP Shawn had taken the time with Chavit Singson to meet up with Ramon Monzon of MEO during the 2019 finals of Ms Earth. Did he manage to get some tips? With the vast resources IMG has in its portfolio, it makes me wonder why IMG cannot enlist a roster of viable sponsors and secure a promising show for Ms U 2019 edition. The MUO franchise fees are hefty to my knowledge. And yet looking at the itemized schedule of Ms U activities, it appears like MUO/IMG has a lot to learn from MEO/Carousel Productions.

These girls will not sleep and they have to do all the activities dead tired ... @-) @-) @-) @-)

I hope MUO would at least move the registration date earlier.

So true! After all the effort...

And based on Miss Universe’s track record when holding the pageant in the US, the girls will get bored to death. They really should have pushed to hold it in another country.

Atlanta hosted Miss World 1991 (with South Africa as co-host for the pre-pageant activities) and also the 1996 Summer Olympics.

But where's the venue? They have the dates and itineraries of the pageant but the venue is not announced yet. It's still written up in the air not yet in the stone.

When Donald Trump took over the pageant for so many years and even though he had a lot of business dealings to do but he made sure that Miss Universe was on top of his list. Every time Miss USA, Miss Teen USA or Miss Universe will be held, he will always be there in one of the rehearsals and during the final's night so that the pageant is up and running smoothly. But now, it's in the hands of different entity, it seems like that they don't care that it's being participated by different nations from various continents. Once, they even held it in the hallway of the hotel with the preliminary. I don't know what transpired but it was so callous and pathetic to have been done like that. This is just to show how ill prepared the company is doing to the organization. If they can't handle the bulk of this pageant, it's better that they devolve this organization to another entity to make Miss Universe prestigious again. There's a lot of companies who are willing to buy it out because, the brand of Miss Universe is so well known to at least 90 countries and territories. They are the Olympics of the beauty pageant so it's not hard to sell.

A week or so of a pageant is only good for a Miss USA contest wherein you do not need to tour the girls in the host city because well..they are locals. But for international candidates, at least they will be given a time to have some sight seeing, etc. because they are tourists and this kind of travel are one of the reasons they want to join Miss Universe. Where did the huge franchise and television broadcast rights income go? What happened to you MUO?

Is it the taxes that they have to pay to the US government because you know, there's so many homeless in the US now. So the US government has to impose so much taxes to whatever they can to sustain those that are in need with their citizenry.

It was the same! Last minute contest, date always moving around, most of the time hurriedly organized in Vegas with no activities. AT least IMG has taken it to Philippines and Thailand with good shows in a short span. People are forgetting how bad it was under Trump - the girls staying in budget hotels without Air Conditioning, national costume on a box in the lobby, girls not allowed to the Charity Auction because they didn't;t want to pay for snacks, going to the mall and selling lemonade for 50c in bikinis, making them walk in SS in a bar with all those old and gross men catcalling while drunk....

Nothing like a fancy finale show and time to make you forget how bad it has been for how long....

Suddenly everything was perfect before 2015? Miss Universe has been on a downhill since 2009. They’ve just managed to make things worse under IMG now.

It wasn't bad at all with Donald Trump as the owner because they will announce the date and the venue at least 3 months ahead of the competition. There was no preliminaries in the hallway of the hotel. During his time, Miss Universe was brought to Moscow, Bangkok, Vietnam, Ecuador, Panama City and some other cities. I was also billeted to the same hotel of Hollywood Planet Hotel but the hotel is so decent and expensive. They always have air conditioner and a heater inside the room but I don't think that you have said none of it works.

I’m going to address the elephant in the room. If the number of days were true for M.U. this year, it will pale
In comparison to Miss Earth’s month long, heavily sponsored, activity filled environmental pageant.

It will look like a minor pageant whose saving grace is JUST the finals night (ala Miss Grandma).
Losing substance from here on.

No wonder Shawn was present during the M.E finals. He was probably getting tips from Ramon Monzon. How do you do it? Month long! And yes Siera Bearchell likes it short!
