Miss Universe’19 in Rio, Brazil?

Postby jhunz23 » Sat Apr 06, 2019 1:41 am

MISS UNIVERSE 2019 PAGEANT MIGHT NOT BE IN ASIA!

TPP NEWS | A third player has entered the Bidding Game for the Hosting of the 2019 Miss Universe Pageant, and it is not in the same continent as the other two!

As exploratory talks with the Philippine Tourism Department begin for the 4th Hosting of the country for the most prestigious beauty pageant, with the idea of the reigning queen Catriona Gray turning over her crown right on our shores, LCS President Luis Chavit Singson’s Friends in South Korea have to level up their interests as a more suitable player is entering the race. And the Miss Universe Organization might like this 3rd player better than the two!

Recently elected by UNESCO, the city of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) is going to be the World Capital of Architecture for 2020. This initiative is part of a recent partnership between UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA) and allows the designated city to host the triennial UIA World Congress.

Under the theme “All the worlds. Just one world,” Rio de Janeiro is expected to hold a series of events throughout 2019 and 2020 in anticipation for this world congress, and one of these events might be the 68th Miss Universe Pageant.

In an interview, Professor João Baptista Ferreira de Mello, coordinator of Roteiros Geográficos do Rio, said that hosting the biggest beauty pageant is only natural for Rio who has been the home of world class events such as the triennial UIA World Congress and the 31st Summer Olympics wayback in August 2016. Answering questions about funding, Professor Baptista said that the money will not come from the government or the taxes

“Our city is used to holding world class events, and having the Miss Universe here is going to add to that prestige! And we can afford to do that,” Professor Baptista said in an interview

“And having the pageant here would be a great showcase for Brazilian music and culture, what more with the Parade of Nations happening to the beat of the samba! Plus our Miss Universe Brazil 2019 JULIA HORTA (Minas Gerais) is going to be a great host and example of a true Brazilian beauty!”

So, the race for the 2019 Miss Universe Pageant has just become more interesting. Where do you think will Catriona turn over her crown?

Where would you prefer it to be? Will it be more fun in the Philippines? Will it be Imagine Your Korea? Or will it be Brazil Sensational?

It's cute that a lot of countries still thinks that hosting Miss Universe will boost their tourism by showcasing the country's culture, music, arts etc.....

But that's not the case for this new org anymore. The ladies will walk (not dance) for their intros, ramp in swimsuit and bedazzle in their evening gowns under the tune of American music. Very far from the very festive carnival-samba themed production in 2011 (Sao Paulo).

Who would forget the 2016 edition of Miss Universe in Manila? That is an absolute turn off to the Filipinos! What an insult to the rich and festive culture of the Philippines. As far as I know, that's the least viewed edition of Miss Universe in YT for recent years. I myself didn't re-watched it ever.

In the 2018 edition, if it wasn't for the big pressure that the local organizers brought upon to MUO...the latter will not insert any effort on incorporating Thai culture in the production. The ones who created the Thai themed music for the prelims are ALL Thai! The Thai production for the pre pageant activities are shouldered by Thai organizers...ALL only for MUO to approve. Pfft

it's incredible how much truth you just spoke! I find it kind of insulting to locals who watch the show and not see their culture on screen. Thailand was equally a let down as Philippines, to me it was either that they weren't trying or they didn't care. For some reason thry're depending on the screens a little to much and forgetting that they can use props and decorations or if you are going to use screens they can at least display something related to the local culture.

Regardless of what i just said i would however love to see Miss Universe happen in Rio because i wasn't a fan of what happened in Sao Paulo

I'd love for it to be in Brazil. As long as the same camera men for 2011 are not there. Remember when they zoomed into the girls before the hosts even named them in the top :%))

I hope they don’t get some ugly fat female performer doing an intermission number again. The Miss Universe contestants should be the only females getting attention on the stage and any other female who shares the limelight should be of Miss Universe caliber !

True. I think Miss Universe 70s until 2012, has a strong cultural incorporation in the pageant night.
Now ... the pageant night became more commercialize and one dimensional only.
Miss Universe'18 isnt bad
but Miss Universe need more cultural incorporation to entice more hosts.
Let the audience see, that Miss Universe is celebration of a beauty of a culture too.

i dont think he is making money out of this.
some rich people just love to support pageant and beautiful ladies as a bragging thingy just like trump.
his source of income however is different story.

Hahahaha.
It spoiled the suspense big time as the camera was more advance than the host at that time!
:-)

I prefer for the pageant to be in South Korea this year. They can hold it in Brazil next year, which would be the perfect time in line with their country's event.
