It's hard to explain.
Lets just say that we are from one family with one surname.
Then we got married and got kids and this goes for a thousand years.
Some move to other place, interracial marriage, some lost their surname due to marriage,
Sure enough that we're bringing the culture with us,right? :)>- :)>-
Proudly say that it is our culture.
but still, we are from the same family.

Yes, Kebaya is shared heritage for Indonesia and Malaysia, it's true that English wiki mentions Kebaya as National costume of Indonesia, (some) Malaysian Malays came from Indonesia, mostly from west cost Sumatra, Indonesia, not to mention that Malay's culture originated in Sumatra, Indonesia. That's why we call it shared heritage and we have so many things in common.

We don't mind Kimberley Legget wearing kebaya as her national costume, we proud of her because she wore one of our shared heritages, in fact she nailed it :) She looked like an evil queen, love it.

after watching the national costume who struck me most are miss china-wow i like it a top contender for the win, miss vietnam-i saw this for so many pageant too very original, miss korea-very common nc in internaional beauty pageant but very competitive the original so far for the pageant history, miss philippines-very simple but she actually did a very elegant moves very modest the way she turns around the projection is very queenly, miss usa simple but sexy and alegant, miss purto rico-very suit to her big built since she's tall the aura is appealing.

I can confirm that Mandagi is Indonesian surname, it's a common surname for Minahasan people in North Sulawesi (my mom is a Minahasan)
and, Jovian is kinda Manado-like name for me.

Well, yeah, actually Indonesia has her own culture, and Malaysia has her own culture also, like Malaysia should not to wear traditional costume from Papua/Flores/Gorontalo etc etc because those are exclusively belong to Indonesia, but this kebaya is one of our shared heritages. Thanks :)>-
