Miss Universe in 2018`

Postby macwendy » Sat Dec 30, 2017 1:56 pm

Now that Miss Universe 2017 is done and the year is over, what is next for Miss Universe in 2018? Host nation names have been throw around...Vietnam, Philippines, Hawaii, and Peru have been mentioned, though nothing substantiated. I mostly hope they choose early so there is time for proper preparation for a good lead up and final show.

Also, any news about franchise changes? Is it true that Hungary bowed out this year as a new franchise holder was just chosen? And is it true that Denmark will return? I truly also want a return of Switzerland (which is possible since Miss Schweiz has a new owner now), Suriname (Tropics of Suriname had wanted to get the franchise but no idea whether they did try), Belize (after the fiasco with their franchise holder last year), Kenya(rumored to have been taken by Mary Were from Miss Universe 2016) ,Serbia and Montenegro (who likely need to search out a new franchise holder after failing to show up for year now), Cyprus (what is going on there?), Greece (so sad no one has tried to take this over - know anyone ????). Would also love to see nations like Luxembourg, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bermuda, Cook Islands, and Northern Marianas return. And from AFRICA we need BOTSWANA to return!

Also rumors of new nations such as the Faroe Islands, Armenia, and Krygystan debut this year?

GO MISS UNIVERSE 2018!!!

I agree, 80 or 85 contestants are enough, because they have the opportunity to make her catwalk one by one.

Too many contestants make the event slow and boring as it happens in MW pageant.

I am okay with the numbers of contestants. It is just a matter of reinventing the style of presentation. But I have no idea how... hahahaha. It's for the pageant geniuses to ponder and challenge themselves about. Happy New Year!!!

MUO seems to be getting dependent on the Philippines now.
Pinoys are only up to winning Miss Universe crowns, at least two more.
It will crown more Misses Philippines, so it can host more Miss Universe pageants.
That’s how much a Miss Universe crown would cost for the Philippines.

Pinoy beauty camps should never rely on Philippine popularity at MUO.
At the end of the day, it’s not the possibity of hosting that counts. It’s the judges ultimate decision on which contestant would be crowned.

May not happen. Their aim is to expand their market and maybe to top MW numbers just by looking at the recent top 16

I hope they will have a Mr. Universe also

I think Miss Universe 2018 would reach more than 95 contestants.

I want Miss U to reach the 100 mark.

And yea, Faroe Islands is applying to get a franchise. But am not sure they will get the nod.

Expect Kenya to return in 2018. I also want Botswana to return but seemingly that is still bleak.

I am also hoping Zimbabwe to return after the current political overturn in that country, unseating Robert Mugabe after almost 40 years of authoritarian rule. Someone over there have been trying to get the franchise in the last 4 years.

Gabon wont be returning next year due to political crisis, nevertheless am still positive.

I like more African girls to compete. Cote d'Ivoire and Zaire (now, the Democratic Republic of the Congo) should really be back.

---

For Europe, I wonder what had happened to Latvia after participating in 2005-2006.

Luxembourg girls are too preoccupied with careers than beauty pageants. So they wont be back anytime soon.

Lithuania should be back. They have very high potential of winning Miss Universe. Lithuania has more beautiful girls than any other European nation.

If Faroe Islands will be allowed to compete, I think Abkhazia and Sout Ossetia should also be allowed, the same as The Republic of Artsakh (formerly Nagorno-Karabakh).

Moldova, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Macedonia should already debut in Miss U. It is long overdue.

I also wish Estonia should be back, minus the Vampire-looking winners.

Am ready solved with Asia since Cambodia, Laos and Nepal already debuted last year. I only wish Bangladesh and Mongolia can join in the future.

For the Pacific, Cool Islands and Northern Marianas have been missing for more than 2 decades already. Tuvalu and Vanuatu have been joining Miss South Pacific, I think they just need some money for Miss Universe franchise. Take note, Vanuatu joined Miss Universe once in 1978 with Christine Spooner as New Hebrides, its former name.

Someone trying to get the ZIMBABWE franchise for 4 years now? Why not given it? They should return!
