Dom. Rep.: Absurd amount of money for hosting Miss Universe!

Dominican Rep. says NO to Miss Universe

The government of the Dominican Republic has declined Miss Universe’s proposal to host the pageant in the Caribbean country this year. Allegedly, MUO had asked for USD 16 million, which the Dominican government saw as an absurd amount of money.

A few days ago, Magaly Febles, the Dominican national director for Miss Universe, told the press that the Dominican Republic would host the Miss Universe pageant in December. Now such information has been denied.

Miss Universe has been struggling to find a venue for this year’s pageant. For the first time in history, the pageant had to be moved to December. There were also talks about South Africa hosting Miss Universe this year, but negotiations failed.

It looks like it will end up in Vegas again!

It's still something being negotiated.
I don't think it's true because no media outlet has heard about this in our country.
But supposedly we'll know about the host in July.

i think MUO is struggling to find a venue for host the pageant because no countries would like to host after what had happened to Sao Paolo,Brazil funds...

I was hoping that it would be hosted in the Dominican Republic since my family is already planning to go there in December but I doubt it will happen. I just hope it's not in Vegas.

Exactly these articles are a hoax just like the ones that confirmed it. The deal is still in negotiations.

Trump needs to realize that Miss Universe is not like the Olympics--expensive and down right fund draining that will lead to years of economic hardship for a city. Because beauty should not be that expensive and beauty should not br monopolized.
