They need to take the screening seriously, not just choosing those kids who were willing to take them to bed as official candidates. Geez...

There are hundred thousands of Pinoy guys who have better muscular bodies and good looking facially out there they can choose and recruit as long as they respect them and not sexually abuse them, plus assisting them land better career paths in the showbiz industry.

There is something wrong with the organizers, the way these kids were chosen.

The problem lies in the male pageant industry in the Philippines itself. Male pageants are not as "glamorous" and "coveted" in the Philippines compared to female pageants. The tall and handsome men usually prefer to go straight to modelling or try their luck in the entertainment industry than join pageants.

Yes, there are a lot of guys who look better with more chiseled bodies. But the question is, are they interested to join a pageant? I would rather have someone who has the heart for the pageant than a John Spainhour or Sam Ajdani who are damn clueless about what they are doing.

Those excuses you have or reasons for bad turn out of excellent candidates are not difficult to address. They can be fixed, something can be done to make Philippine male pageantry better. Organizers have better ways of recruiting better candidates, if they want to. Things can always get better, if they want to.

These kids can be easy preys of sexual abuse.

Judging by their faces, I find these three competitive. Overall, Italy is the most competitive. I hope Candelaria and Laguna work it out in the gym for a better physique.

A country is considered beauty powerhouse if it has also achieved success in male pageantry.
So far, the Philippines has not achieved the latter.

Male pageants shouldn't be categorized in the genre of "beauty" pageants.

Rather, they should simply be re-defined as a personality and talent search. Guys who are gifted with good looks, innate social graces and acquired etiquette with the trimmings of a matinee idol or qualities of a heart throb have a distinct advantage.

Filipino with these winning attributes are all over the archipelago including those who are raised and residing in Filipino communities abroad usually born to a mixed parentage.

But these guys wherever they are shun male pageants because of the negative connotations and the utter lack of the appropriate incentives.

Why does Mister Gay Philippines have way more handsome contestants than the mainstream pageant?

Because the Filipino straight males and the Filipino gay/Bi-sexual men defines manly beauty differently. To a straight Filipino men having flabs and beer belly is macho (of course as an attempt to cover the laziness and lack of discipline that requires going to the gym and looking after the diet) while those with trim physiques are usually becoming suspect of being members of the LGBT community or are engage in the "meat" market.

To mainstream Filipinos, joining male pageant is one easy way of being labelled as being gay or having that tendency or being an "alaga" or "boyfriend"of a gay or bi-benefactor.
