EGYPT BANS EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS

Exodus starring Christian Bale as Moses has been banned by Egypt over false historical accuracies.

Egypt's censorship board cites these three reasons:

1. An earthquake, not God through Moses, led to the parting of the Red Sea.

2. Showing an image of God in human flesh, something not accepted in Islam, Egypt's dominant religion.

3. Portraying the Jews as having built the Pyramids which was completed 1000 years or so before the time of Moses.

Other countries have followed suit including Morocco. Of course an animated film, The Prince of Egypt generated objections from Maldives and Malaysia over the depiction of any prophets.

Have you seen the film? What is your take? And will you watch the film if you haven't?

I don't blame them at all.

I will not waste my money to see this nonsense in theater ............like I did with Noah (with Russell Crowe). I still want my $40 TT back :%))

ALSO..................
The movie is whitewashed as they say............all main characters are white ppl............. with a bloody tan. :|
The only time I heard black people and other NON Europeans were shown, was when they were showing slaves.

I mean seriously, I bet there were at least some white Egyptians back then but............. there also has to be Egyptians of different races as well [-(
And I doubt Noah was a white man. :-j

U can always count on Hollywood to make fun of the Bible. :-j

Firstly
That movie named Noah, was absolute BS............. with all those rock like transformers (AKA God's banished angels) WTF?!!!! 3:) =;))

I don't know what bible the director Darren Aronofsky or those producers was reading. :| =;))

So..............I have no doubts Ridley Scott made a mess of this Exodus movie with all these historical inaccuracies. [-(

I'm not a fan of Christian Bale or any Christian Hollywood Movies...

I think the Bible, spoiled everything for me. There's just no suspence or a plot twist to anticipate if you know the story.

But I've admired some of Christian Bale's work, like the movie "The Machinist" and "Christian Bale vs The Lighting Crew"...

One of my favourite film and audio!

well in my opinion this is better compared to Noah. :D

the 10 plagues was the most realistic thing I have seen from the moses movies.

but yes, i understand why other countries would ban this movie.

The movie incorportated scientific explanations on supposed to be God's miracles/actions against Egypt (except the dying of the first born sons which most likely cannot be explained by science)! It's a big no no. The movie went beyond what's written in the bible. It's a complete rubbish just like Noah (with Lord of the Ringish theme 8-} ).

based on my opinion:

If the film wanted to showcase an artistic value then they are failed. Caucasian casts, english with Brit and American dialect, not that creative story-twist, and Avatar Aang The Last Airbender becoming God? Come on ... Lame to the max.

If they wanted to give scientic approach, they gave a very slight and not that smart way to execute. The 10 plague looks visually great but story basis weren't giving us portray that the filmmaker didn't dig deeper history-wise the Exodus story with wits and clever nuance. For me it was too much unimportant events happen during 140 minutes length time, they didn't describe the 10 plagues were all symbolize the gods and godesses of ancient Egypt, etc the only interesting factor was the tsunami kind of things, some find it interesting while I don't.

If they wanted to degrade God's awesome wonder to mankind. They are quite succeed. Just like Noah movie, but Noah movie was more ugly and yuck (Noah, the prophet become a psycho and the film kinda have horror thriller genre in the end)

All in all I gave it 2 stars out of 5, cos I still enjoy the movie without yawning during 2 hours and for 'at least I know' experience.

I heard that the movie is very inaccurate if we would follow the Bible. :=p

I slept through the movie. Maybe because what I had was a cam copy. But I've watched several cam copy mobvies at they have kept me on my toes. EXODUS made me so sleepy that even coffee was not a match to the boredom I felt while watching it.

And add to the list they have actors playing Egyptians that looked nothing like the ancient Egyptians. 8-} They don't even look like modern Egyptians. :%))
