Because she was appointed and was never crowned. So they honored her by actually crowning her as a surprise.

But I wouldn't say "crowning" so much as just plopping it in her head. lol

She is the niece of Luis Vigoreaux, the former owner of Miss Universe PR from 2010-2017, and didn't want to participate in a pageant where her relationship to the owner would muddle her win.

I kind of knew from her last name but i wasn't sure, her last name is famous in PR, since day one i was like is she related to the Vigoreaux and i confirm it today just as the pageant ended.

Since Joe and Vanessa took over the franchise, we have nothing but beauitful PR Earth Queens. Karla, Krystal X, Nellys, Krystal B and now Valerie. Too bad that Karla is not active with the org.

Karla X is very active despite not place is very active. Valerie is my currebt Miss Earth 2021. Train her more Joe and Vanessa. You have a goddess.
