Lying Is Normal ... But

Whether it is a lover, a husband, or children to his parents, we are always caught in a situation where we are
forced to tell lies - making us believe it is the easy way out.

Lying in a relationship is normal. Trying to hide the fact that you accidentally broke your Dad's favorite cologne,
or how much you ~actually~ spent on the night out with the guys, it may even be necessary to lie sometimes to
avoid hurting your Dad's feelings.

But doing this frequently has its own snag and you better be aware of its downside. The more lies you tell, the
less he trusts you or has faith in your honesty. Lying makes it harder for him to detect your emotions, which in
turn, can diminish the compassion and empathy he feels toward you.

When you hide things, you begin to realize that your parents do not know you. Part of having a loving relationship
is being understood and loved for who you are. But if you are lying and you know that your parent no longer
knows you, then you are going to withdraw even further from the relationship.

Telling lies in your understanding you are doing your Dad or your friend a favor. Over time, though, you're not doing
just that. Is it safe to say you are fooling them?

Being evasive or undisclosed falsehood tear down intimacy, and over time results in the breakdown of communication.
The worst situation in a relationship is when it becomes a habit of a child to lie. The son, who constantly fibs, becomes
entangled in his own tale of lies, he ultimately believes his lies as the gospel TRUTH.

If you have been keeping secrets, deceived, and broke your Dad's confidence in you, acknowledgment and admission
of a lie are your en route to start making amends. It is imperative that you recognize the wrongdoing. And keep in mind,
that making apologies is not the time to rationalize your action, nor it is the time to do damage control.

Are truth and lies relative? Someone had explained it better before.

Lies are born from the truth, but the truth is not born from lies.

Lies depend on the truth; truth does not depend on lies. Lies depend on the INTENT of the liar; truth does not depend
on the person's INTENT.

A lie cannot deceive unless it contains some element of truth to make it believable. Something cannot be true if it contains
even the tiniest falsehood.

It is often said that truth is relative but that is wrong. Lies are always relative to the truth and the truth never depends on
lies.

Can someone tell a lie and the truth at the same time?

Yes ... you can. The most dangerous liars are the ones who think they are telling the truth. So, yes, if you believe something
to be true (which is actually a lie) you are lying by telling the truth.

Can withholding the truth be a form of lying?

Undisclosing some important intelligence reports and information falls more under the suppression of truth rather than the
expression of untruth.

Both are designed to deceive, but withholding information makes secret the truth - it doesn't distort it like what lies do.

Can truth exist without lies? And can lies exist without truth? Johnny Lee has this to say:

Objectively, NO. Lies pervert the truth, without truth, there would be nothing to pervert.

Subjectively, YES, if you’ve never encountered the truth, and the lie is the first thing you encountered, then you’ll have
nothing to compare that lie against, and would wholesale buy into the lie as truth. Most people tend to buy into the first
thing they encounter as the truth. That’s why brainwashing the young works so well because humans are inherently not
truth machines.

Seen from the perspective of a whole life, and wisdom, you need to encounter both lies and truth and enough of both
sides to finally begin to sort it out for yourself.

Hence exposing yourself to lies, evil, falsehood, and vileness is not bad per se. You actually need a certain degree of
experience in vileness and perversion and defilement and corruption to be able to discern both good and evil.

One of my friends asked me this question: You wrote something about telling the truth and telling a lie. In real
life are there circumstances wherein lying can be considered morally acceptable than telling the truth?

My Response:

When you are being introduced to the children of a friend, a long-lost relative, or even new acquaintances - well
the child is not at all pleasing let alone pleasant to the eyes ... he is that kind of son or daughter only his mother
will love. Well, this is not the time to be candid and blunt by being truthful and giving an unsolicited honest opinion
about how one looks. If you feel you are going to puke for being insincere by saying, "Oh what a doll ... cool down
that contrite heart, focus on other areas and say "I like her straight hair ..." or say " what piercing brown eyes."

I remember a friend introducing his daughters to me, This is Aillen my beautiful daughter ... and this is Rossana ...
she's fun to be with.

Stay away from commenting on his knock-knees, or his flat nose. Abstain from pointing out the child's oval and half-
moon facial features. And desist from interfering with the child's squinting eyes. It is not lying if the moon's gravitational
force is egging you to say something about the child's unkempt hair ... but it is rude and impolite to openly castigate the
appearance of somebody's one and only child.

Besides, you looked like that yourself once, too- and look how well you turned out ...
