Canadian Citizenship/Passport

Postby PaulaTaylor » Thu Jul 26, 2012 1:14 am

I really need help.! okay, so we filed our citizenship application late december 2011 and we received the Canadian reviewer on February 2012. I am in currently highschool choir and we are competing in New York on April 2013. i looked at the processing times and it says that it will be in span for 19 months. is there anyway i can speed up the process or should i just be expecting the letter regarding about the test in a couple of months?

my second option is renewing my Philippine passport. the Philippine consulate will be in Calgary this august, is there anbody here who knows how to set up an appointment with them?

your help will be greatly appreciated. :hx :hx

Maybe you can ask for a WAIVER or a certification that it is being processed like an ADVANCE PAROLE here in the US, which those who are adjusting status have to seek prior to going out of the country (guaranteeing their return will be ok by the immigration).
Do you believe in love at first sight? Or do I have to walk by again???

there is no way to speed up the process. it takes about approx a year for them to schedule you for you written test. and after that is your oath taking.

You dont have to wait for the Phil Consulate. Visit the Phil Embassy in Ottawa website and review their requirements for Passport renewal. You can do transactions via email or you can call em, send them the requirements via Canada Express Post plus money order. Took me 3 months at most to get my renewed passport and they told me processing in Manila took most of the delay.

Thank you for your response! I will try and contact the Canadian govt regarding my concern! Thanks again :)

renew your Philippine passport. . . there is no way you can request to speed up your application in the Ministry of Citizenship and then Canadian Passport Office (2 different government bodies). . . . remember you are now in Canada which is so different back home in Pinas, where you can pay anybody inside even a janitor to prioritize your application. .

A Canadian greencard ( whatever is your Canada's equivalent to US greencard) may be all you need to gain entry).

A few years back, I visited Canada with just my greencard.

Check it out.

So thanks! I will contact them tomorrow! Just wondering, did you have to go to Ottawa or you just contacted them and sent everything that is needed?

Passport renewal has to be done in person at the Phil Consulate, just like what I did few months ago. They are issuing the new PP. You will be filling up form and they will take a picture of you and your signature on that gadget attached to a computer. Mine (in LA) was released after six weeks. Last i heard, the waiting period is now 12 weeks.

Oh yeah, my bad, I was talking abt obtaining a ckearance. For a passport renewal, they're requiring personal appearance cos they need your biometrics for the ePassport. I remember going to Ottawa since it's just a couple of hours fr Montréal. And yeah, took me 3 mos to get back my passport. But hey, give the embassy a call or the Phil consulate in Alberta and ask if you can do renewal in a consular office to save you time and money.

not anymore after 911. . .before 911, permanent residence card or a valid canadian drivers license was honored at the border. . now, you must have passport.

Ask help? from who? why not ask your parents who are the main applicants and tell them to call the Immigration and Citizenship Office to inquire with regards to your problem coz obviously they knew what they did before they filed your applications for canadian citizenship status. since you are a minor who will not be taking the exams, why even bother about the processing time, you will automatically become a canadian sixtycent once your parents passed the exams so all you have to do is go with them for the oath taking where you will all sing "O kin nada". Secondly, as a minor, it is your parents' concern to have your PP renewed and not yours and am sure that your parents are already aware of this.

Lastly, you must have lied about being an adult when you signed up to become a missosology member so how the f**k did a skunk minor became a member of this for adult only site?
so tell me, are you really asking for help or you just want to brag to people that you are on the way of becoming a canadian citizen?
