kelan interview schedule mo? mine is on the 17th of May... ano ba circumstance mo ngayon?

Got my multiple entry on my second try (6 months after I first got rejected). Here's my tips:

1. I noticed that those who got approved only wore smart casual attire - not too formal (as if going to a job interview) and not too casual (as if just going to the mall).
2. Do not over sell yourself and do not act too eager for a visa. Have an i-dont-care-about-your-visa-I-just-want-to-spend-my-money-in-your-country attitude.
3. It's ok to smile but don't push it too much as if kissing a*s. basic courtesy will do.
4. Do not elaborate your answer, unless asked to. Basically, they already know about you - your background, travel plans, education, work, etc. the consul will just confirm what you wrote in the application form. do not deviate from what you already put on the application form.
5. Also, maintain eye contact during interview. I really think consuls can read body language. Body language experts say that people who cannot maintain eye contact in a conversation, more often than not, are lying. And you do not want the consul to think of you that way; and
6. Be honest. If you're honest, you won't have a hard time thinking for answers. You would be spontaneous and it will manifest in your body language. (but then again, read #4)

Goodluck! :=p

Great! good on ya mate. do you have relatives ba sa US? i hope i get this on my 2nd attempt...

Make sure you get your entry approved with a stamp (priod of allowable stay!) when you present your passport and disembarkation card to the Immigration Officer at the port of entry in the US. BTW, what is your entry point in the US of A?

Well, i did my homework this time with lots of prayers and confidence. hehehe...

Since this is my 2nd attempt, there's only one new questions which is 'What has changed?'
For some reason at lot changed in the past 3 months: 1. Got new role at work (it sounded like a promotion to them) 2. Got accepted in the masters program 3. moved in to my new condo (under my name) 4. managing and competing in dragonboat sport 5. Status = from single to in a relationship

These are things that would make your ties in the Philippine stronger. You just have to emphasize your ties here in the Philippines than in the US most especially my family is there. (my parents and sibling are in the US). You have to convince the consular officer that you are coming back after your vacation in the US. They did not even care to look at the documents that brought with me in the embassy. They just took my passport. They asked what countries i've been to. Good thing i kinda travelled before i even applied. (Australia, Korea, Japan etc.) I suggest go to countries that requires a Visa like OECD countries that i mentioned. Thanks guys! Good luck to those who will be having their interview in the embassy soon.

No matter the busy skeds, when you're away from home and family and friends, you will always find the time to sneak in scour the internet for news from the home front.

Far from perturbed but we're anxious because until the casualties are identified one never knows who might be within the vicinity and could be hurt. London Bridge - - - Borough Market where the incident took place is centrally located in W1 and far from where we are at NW10 approx an hour ride by bus. But we were in Borough Market just 2 Sundays ago because the weekend market is a primary tourist destination and known to attract people who are in the hunt for good buys at reasobale prices. I go there regularly for the fresh farm produce and for a change of locale.

What I did see in TV and hearing 1st-hand reportage is nothing compared to what I've actually experienced personally in 9/11/2001. I had a close brush with the Great beyond having gone out of the main exit of Tower1 6 minutes before the 110-storey office complex actually got hit.

Thanks for these nice words, Pancho. Both encouraging and engaging to say the least. I trust all is well with you and family and friends in your area after the RWM fiasco.

The previous incident near Westminster Bridge a few weeks back caused a huge traffic bedlam in the areas surrounding the vicinity of WBridge. I had to walk about 35 minutes to get to the nearest underground tube as the areas around the crime scene were cordoned off by authorities. It was a miracle that the casualty count had numbered less.

The areas within immediate proximity are usually dense with tourists. More innocent lives could have been lost or injured if the perpetrator wasn't neutralized in time by the responding officer.

Great to hear that you're safe. I live in Delhi, where the Resorts Wold Manila tragedy has hit the headlines soon after the Marawi City affair did. Indian friends from Mumbai called me with worry, asking about my family back home. What surprised me was the generally tepid reaction of friends and family in Manila, who all seem quite unperturbed with the whole event. The fact that this was a madman's undoing is probably why the tragedy has not been senstationalized. Still bizarre, in all counts.

[color=#0000FF]Nowadays, it serves well our personal causes and/or crusade to remain cautious, well-guarded, and observant at all times. Large crowds may be avoided but even less-crowded places may not be an exception. Terror may strike anywhere, at anytime even at the less frequented places.

How's Delhi. Be safe my friend.

Thanks buddy...

How did it go?

HEY Guys, i got approved... Thanks!

congrats! Care to share your visa application experience?

Nos. 3 and 5 scored big points!!! Those are ties that make you want to come back in Manila before the expiry of your visa. Congratz!

Hey, thanks for all the support. i am flying to the US tomorrow. Thanks again.

Nice to hear that! Enjoy and have fun. But brace yourself for the "realities on the ground" once the euphoria and excitement are done and over with. Cheers!
