Well I'm sorry, but I never liked Natalie Vertiz's face! And I've met her when I went to Sao Paulo In MU last year, and I was sure Natalie would not place, and the people around me were thinking exactly the same!!! And we were very right: She did not place!!! We were not surprised at all. But Cindy beauty wise is much better, this girl have a perfect beautiful face, and a great smile. I prefer Cindy a thousand time!!!!

Ganadora del Miss Perú Universo respondió a críticas sobre el concurso
La joven Cindy Mejía defendió su elección y las razones que la hicieron merecedora de la corona


Cindy Mejía, modelo de “Bienvenida la tarde”, escribió anoche una nueva historia en su vida al ser coronada Miss Perú Universo 2012. En conversación con elcomercio.pe, la nueva reina de belleza narra los momentos posteriores a su coronación, sus planes futuros, y responde a las críticas que se han generado en Twitter en torno a este certamen.

“Realmente me siento muy feliz, no tengo palabras para expresar lo agradecida que estoy con toda la gente que me apoyó. Di todo de mí para ganar, sacrifiqué muchas cosas. Gracias a Dios mi esfuerzo fue recompensado”, comentó Mejía.

¿Esperabas este resultado?
La verdad es que no pensé ganar. Mi familia me aconsejaba que estudie en lugar de postular, y había gente que me llamaba para bajarme los ánimos,; pero yo sabía que tenía las cualidades necesarias para hacer un buen papel en el concurso, además de la experiencia que me dio el haber representado al Perú en Santa Cruz Bolivia el 2011.

¿Crees que ser modelo de un espacio mediático, como “Bienvenida la tarde”, sumó para que ganaras?
No lo sé, pero estoy muy agradecida con el programa por la experiencia que gané estando ahí. Creo que me eligieron porque tuve actitud ganadora y por la confianza que demostré al desfilar, sonreír y mirar al jurado.

¿Vas a continuar en el programa?
Eso está por verse. Me encantaría seguir porque es algo que me ayudó muchísimo en mi vida y mi profesión; pero tengo que ver mis horarios. Definitivamente ya no voy a ser solo una modelo, sino una representante y embajadora del Perú.

¿Qué es lo primero que harás como Miss Perú Universo?
Como el jueves quedé finalista en la preliminar del Miss sonrisa, me eligieron para trabajar en el programa “Vuelve a sonreír”, que ve casos de mujeres que han sufrido violencia familiar o que no tienen los recursos económicos necesarios para colocarse una prótesis dental. Se les va a reconstruir sus dentaduras para que tengan una buena sonrisa y se verán los casos de niños que sufren de labio leporino.

¿Qué opinas de las críticas que han surgido en Twitter en torno a las respuestas de las concursantes de este certamen?
De hecho los nervios nos traicionan, pero creo que las chicas han dado una buena respuesta. Realmente yo estoy contenta con mi respuesta. A mí me tocó hablar de lo que es el transgénero y ese para mí es un tema delicado que gracias a Dios supe manejar. Di una respuesta diplomática.

2nd, it wasnt her answer really, it was all of the girls answers. Her question was about transgenders she answered "I respect everyone, and that choice belongs to the organization" very diplomatic.
Overall people were just angry because it was very obvious they already had winners so they bashed the girls.

Miss Perú Universo saca el cetro contra las críticas.

La coronada Miss Perú Universo, Cindy Mejía, defendió su título de los cuestionamientos a su elección por el jurado y las redes sociales.

Lima . La Miss Perú Universo, Cindy Mejía, salió a defender la legitimidad de su elección ante los cuestionamientos de Silvia Cornejo, Jéssica Newton y los cibernautas.

“Me tocó la pregunta del transgénero y mi respuesta fue corta porque es un tema delicado. Siento que di una buena respuesta, porque creí que yo no tenía que tomar la decisión”, dijo Mejía al diario ‘Perú21’.

Finalmente, Cindy Mejía descartó que exista algún interés oculto en su triunfo como Miss Perú Universo 2012. “Definitivamente les digo: ‘no’ a las personas que creen que todo estuvo arreglado”, sentenció la modelo.

Miss Perú Universo 2012 se defiende de críticas de exreinas de belleza y tuiteros, quienes cuestionan su elección.



La reciente elección de Cindy Mejía como Miss Perú Universo fue cuestionada por cientos de cibernautas en las redes sociales y algunas exreinas de belleza.

Muchos tuiteros opinaron que a Mejía le faltó preparación cuando fue consultada sobre la reciente aprobación de la participación de mujeres transgénero al certamen Miss Universo.

“Respeto la decisión de cada persona y creo que de esa decisión se encarga la organización”, dijo la modelo del programa Bienvenida la tarde.

Eso no es todo, la exreina de belleza Jéssica Newton comentó que Paola Rodríguez, representante de La Libertad, debió ser una de las ganadoras. “Es mi opinión personal y humilde de una exreina”, expresó Newton.

Por su parte, Marina Mora señaló lo siguiente: “Falta mejorar mucho a nivel de producción en el concurso”.
