A jovial Sherine Tan from Pulau Pinang was crowned Miss Global International Malaysia (MGIM) 2012 at the final of the pageant at Eastwood Valley Gold and Country Club, Miri Sarawak on 21st July 2012 night.

She edged 12 other finalists.

Sherine bagged a cash prize of RM5,000 and a trophy presented by Datuk Sebastian Ting, political secretary to Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Datuk Seri Peter Chin.

Also present was Miri mayor Lawrence Lai.

Sherine will be representing Malaysia at the Miss Global International Pageant in Jamaica sometime in September this year.

First and second runners-up were Sabahan lashes, 19-year-old Kieren Laurent and Natasha Aprillia, 18.

They received cash prizes worth RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively.

Hope Kierent, the 1st runner-up try out at Miss Malaysia Universe or Miss Malaysia World...She's beautiful & got huge potential

Kierent for me is too raw. She needs to work on her body & her communication skills coz she lost to Sherine mainly on these 2 things. She hv the face & heights & she is young so in a year or 2 she shud try out for Miss Universe Malaysia.

great choice! indeed she got the x-factor, so graceful and full of energy! the other girls were great too!
miss global international malaysia seemed to be an upcoming big pageant in malaysia, last year they produced a great top 3 while the other finalists that the pageant groomed did quite well in other pageants such as miss msia universe msia top 8, miss msia indian 2nd RU, miss msia model of the world winner, miss sia tourism oriental winner, miss borneo chinese world n many more - all after taking part in this pageant! a great training ground.
this year i bet the top 3 will do well while some of the finalists such as freda foong and cookies yap will be given opportunities in other pageants too! thumbs up!
well..this is definitely a lot better than miss msia world, since its only the second year that the pageant been organised here.
