DAPAT GAYAHIN NG BB. PILIPINAS ANG MISS UNIVERSE JAPAN!

Postby Jenna Talakchorva » Fri Feb 08, 2013 12:27 pm

Miku SAWADA (Hokkaido)
Kei TERADA (Aomori)
Ayano YAMADA (Iwate)
Yoko SATO (Miyagi)
Kana KUSUGI (Akita)
Eriko NAKAMURA (Yamagata)
Arisa YONEMORI (Ibaraki)
Airi MINAMI (Tochigi)
Ayumi FURUKAWA (Gunma)
Natsuki TSUTSUI (Saitama)
Yuuki TAJIMA (Chiba)
Mayu KUBOTA (Tokyo)
Mikako SHIMOGAKI (Kanagawa)
Yuu KOJIMA (Niigata)
Rina HIRANO (Toyama)
Haruka YOSHIURA (Ishikawa)
Yuki YOSHIE (Fukui)
Maiko OGASAWARA (Yamanashi)
Mio OHARA (Nagano)
Momoka YAMAZAKI (Gifu)
Ayaka OKADA (Shizuoka)
Haruka NAGAO (Aichi)
Yukimi MATSUO (Mie)
Yuno UEDA (Shiga)
Mai ISHIDA (Kyoto)
Yoshie KUROZUMI (Osaka)
Rumi MURASE (Hyogo)
Miho ASAI (Nara)
Asako KAI (Tottori)
Yuki KUNOMURA (Okayama)
Toyomi KIMURA (Hiroshima)
Haruka IKEDA (Yamaguchi)
Misaki TAKEMOTO (Tokushima)
Tsumugi YOSHIDA (Kagawa)
Yuri UCHIDA (Ehime)
Sayaka SUZUKI (Kochi)
Kyoko TSURU (Fukuoka)
Mari TSURUTA (Saga)
Karin TAKEMURA (Nagasaki)
Miyuki SHIMADA (Kumamoto)
Ayumi SHUTO (Oita)
Madama ISHIBASHI (Miyazaki)
Yukari YOSHIMOTO (Kagoshima)
Seira KAWABATA (Okinawa)

For example, sa NCR eh may MISS MAKATI CITY, MISS LAS PINAS CITY, MISS MANDALUYONG CITY, MISS PASAY CITY, MISS PATEROS CITY, MISS CALOOCAN CITY, etc. Tapos sa LUZON naman eh MISS PAMPANGA, MISS BATANGAS, MISS ISABELA, MISS ABRA, MISS PALAWAN, MISS CAMARINES SUR. Sa VISAYAS eh MISS CEBU, MISS ILOILO, MISS NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, MISS BOHOL, etc. Then sa MINDANAO eh MISS DAVAO, MISS ZAMBOANGA, MISS AGUSAN DEL SUR, MISS BANGSAMORO, etc.

At least may recall ang mga judges pag by name of city or province ang nakalagay sa sash nila.

Kayo anong say nyo?

Actually, MUJ (Miss Universe Japan) has collaboration with every prefecture which holds their separate pageant, wherein the winner goes to the national finals. Unfortunately, hindi lahat ng prefectures ay represented this year. Wakayama and Shimane had to postpone their participation for next year, while Fukushima has some problems within the prefecture which everyone might already know.

They call their pageant MUJ-Tokyo or MUJ-Okinawa or MUJ-Hokkaido.

Image

Through time, MUJ will eventually improve its roster of contestants. But, this system has to start somehow... and they officially start it this year. Last year kasi, hindi pa ganun ka-established ang systema. Officially, though, Ayako Hara was Miss Miyagi.

For me okay naman ang BB. PILIPINAS.

So BOTTOMLINE is: WAG NA LANG!

One example is Alyssa Campanella, she did not win in New Jersey but win in California and won Miss USA and represented USA at Miss Universe in 2011.

And this is also to lessen the monopoly of each camp. Hehehehe!

What is your suggestion then? Writing their names on the sash? Do you want them to represent a certain flower? I think that the geographical classification of contestants is the most logical style in beauty pageants, and it is proven to be effective, especially if you want to recall the contestants at a particular year. Memorizing the names and their numbers is just too much, I guess..

Miss France has a wonderful production despite the fact that they use geographical classification of the contestants. What Binibini does not need to imitate is the style of production. They can be creative in that way, but in terms of classifying the girls, geography is the best option.

Of course there are provinces with sponsors who can stage a provincial or regional pageant.

I actually agree with you Jenna. =;)) I can't believe I am talking with "Jenna".. :-D

In fact, this is a great opportunity for the province-based talents to be a part of the most prestigious pageant in the Philippines. Not only that, it is a good opportunity to promote the participating provinces in order to boost tourism. I'm sure there will be investors who would want to sponsor or get a provincial franchise for Binibini = ECONOMIC ACTIVITY. Anything that involves money spending, usage and getting a profit is good for the local economy.

Hndi pwede ang tulad ng USA n by State!!!

O by Japan n per prefecture!!!!!!

KONTI LANG ANG MAGANDANG PILIPINA!!!!

Konti lang ang matangkad!!!!

Eh paano kung nasa isang region sila pareho???

FWEDE BAHHHHHHH!!!!

Not only that, it is a good opportunity to promote the province to boost tourism. I'm sure there will be investors who would want to sponsor or get a provincial franchise for Binibini = ECONOMIC ACTIVITY. Anything that involves money spending, usage and getting a profit is good for the local economy.

Korak! Kagaya ko, my origin is from Mindanao. I want to help those girls na irefer sa akin. Pag may provincial or regional pageants sa Mindanao, isali sya dito para mahasa na rin sa provincial level pa lang then pag pumasok sa Top 10 saka naman isali na sa national pageants like Bb. Pilipinas.

Oh... so your root's from Mindanao. That's nice! I'm from Visayas kasi... :-D

Actually, the national search for Binibini will be a very good chance para mabigyan ng exposure ang mga probinsya natin. Siguro, ang saya-saya ng mga TV sets sa buong Pilipinas when household audience are cheering for their local bet.

And also, I'm sure marami ring magsisilabasan na mga magaganda (who are based in Manila) who may want to represent their parents' home province. O di kaya, mga nasa abroad who might want to represent the province of their mom or dad.

Hindi naman kasi kailangan sabay-sabay na sumali silang lahat in the same year. Tiyaga lang talaga ang kailangan. If they really want it, they can always find ways on how to get into the national finals.

Why not make it open to all diyosas sa buong kapuluan at ang mapiling 30 or 40 finalists gawan ng geographical sash as diverse as possible. Kunyari si Shamcey Miss Gen. Santos, si Venus Miss Cam-Sur, si Janine Miss Bataan. Ngayon kung masyadong maraming finalista ang galing sa NCR, why not break them down into the cities and municipalities of NCR (Miss Makati, Miss Mandaluyong, Miss Manila, etc...) kung meron paring mag-kapareha, gawing: Miss Quezon City East/West/North/South or di kaya ilagay ang specific barangay like: Miss Diliman QC, Miss Cubao QC, at kung meron pa ring magkapit-bahay (which is an extremely rare case!!!!), pwedeng i-represent nila original province ng ina or ama nila.

The current system is working fine for us so there's no need to change it drastically
That idea is good but it should be done gradually and only be applied
when pageantry in our provinces are already established like Miss Bicolandia

...

having said that, BPCI should have a strong presence over the provincial slates
this is to ensure that provincial winners will always have the standards in accordance to which being set by BPCI
the rules must be outlined thoroughly as to minimize protests and mitigate cheating (like citizenship issues)
but should not be too tight to the extent that it would discourage many girls from participating in

...

The proposed idea is indeed good but it takes a lot of planning, manpower and resources to make it work effectively
Unfortunately, I think BPCI isn't ready for this yet..

we have been doing good the past 3 years without copying them..what's the sense of doing it now?

i remember the early years of miss philippines earth where each region has a representative but it doesn't really produce a super beauty year after year

and i don't understand what's wrong with the "monopoly" thing.. well it's not monopoly in the first place. kasalanan ba ng mga handlers na passion nila ang mag breed ng beauty queens?

Yung point yata ni Jenna is not to totally overhaul the system na kailangan talagang may provincial pageant. Pilipinas - Cebu or Bb. Pilipinas - Davao, eh di mas masaya, di ba? In that way, mapapalawak ang influence ng BPCI.

Just like for example, for Jonas Gaffud, pwede nilang hawakan certain parts of Metro Manila, Calabarzon, etc... Si Rodgil naman ang in-charge sa ibang parte, or even Cebu dahil marami syang alaga na galing doon. JDV can tap beauties from Central Luzon. Correct me if I'm wrong. in Miss USA, iisang grupo/camp lang yata ang may hawak ng Miss Kentucky, Miss Kansas at Miss Oklahoma franchise. Miss North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia belong to one group as well. :#)]

I believe what TS wants to convey is that every Region in the whole country will be represented. It's a good idea but like somebody said it required more budget. People from BBPI have to go and screen and get candidates to join but it does require money. Madam Estela is a businesswoman even though it say Charity. We all know that's just a business stratery.

It was done back in the 70's wherein 10 or 15 candidates something like that is pre selected to represent NCR region. This is because most of the candidate is manipulated ladies from Metro Manila. I am not sure when it was stopped but they can do that. Talk to Madam.

Right now all areas are represented too but then again they are still from Manila. They just have some roots connected from that Province or region.

I can remember it was done for sure in 1977. There's a seperated pageant or event to select the representative from NCR region. That's the time Miss Baguio won. I believe it's Anna Lorraine Kier. Dianne Jeanne Chiong, Arambulo lady are some of the rep from NCR.

Actually, MUJ did it gradually... Up until last year, I think that had Miss Nagano I, Miss Nagano II, Miss Hokkaido I, Miss Hokkaido II, etc... But starting this year, they made sure that only one contestant must represent each prefecture. It was a gradual process, and MUJ realized that it's a very profitable venture. There were so many investors who got interested to open their own MUJ local franchise. It's quite surprising because for a country like Japan, they don't really take pageants seriously...

Anyway, it really does not matter what kind of contestants would join. The important thing is, they want to bring the pageant to the people. And what is even more important is how to prepare the ONE girl who is chosen to become the next MU rep. At the end of the day, only one girl will be selected. Janine was not totally ready when she joined Binibini, and I think that's one reason why many people here had questioned her victory at Binibini (well, not me because she was my Universe last year). So, at the end of the day, it's how BPCI would package and prepare the girl that would determined her fate.

maganda sana kung prang miss usa ang dating.... if sa miss usa (name of states).. sa Bb. Pilipinas (name of province)
pra mas exciting yung pag tawag ng semis... instead of numbers na parang pang barangay lng ....

ex: here are you top fifteen in random order... lets start with miss davao, come on down batangas .... five down next is miss bohol... etc....

why not gawin ng Bb. Pilipinas...

ex; yung winner ng miss cebu represent cebu... winner ng lin-ay ng negros or masskara queen represents bacolod or negros, winner ng miss dinagyang or iloilo... or miss ilocos etc...

As of now, hindi masyadong sumasali ang mga magagandang dilag sa mga local pageans like Dinagyang Queen, Masskara Queen, etc. dahil alam naman nila na hanggang dun lang sila. But, if the local festival queens or simply, the provincial queens are aware that it is their ticket towards Binibini, iiba rin yung mind set nila.

Funny how I imagine that the 1st Runner-up of these local pageants will be sent to MWP... and the 2nd RU to MPE... =;)) =;)) =;))

According to Wikipedia, there are more or less 80 provinces in the Philippines.

There will be 80 provincial candidates for Bb. Pilipinas for Flipinos to cheer on, similar number to MU contest.

It can be done with proper preliminary elimination round like MU.

The more, the merrier. May the best provincial bet win, and at the national contest.

I agree, this will generate local economies if each provincial teams are properly organized and eventually becoming expert organizers with corporate sponsors pitching in.

Handlers will start working hard at the provincial level. There will be specific provinces that will always shine like Texas, California, etc. at Miss USA, but people will start to accept that reality.

Provincial titleholders will not go empty handed if they failed to win at the national Bb. Pilipinas since they will still get busy with the responsibilities all year round when they go back to respective provinces. They have the prestigious provincial crowns / titles to keep for the rest of their lives, rather than going into Bb. Pilipinas contest with no titles to fall back on if they lost there.

This can be done, chaotic at the very beginning, but provincial organizers will eventually pick up the pace and be able to catch up.
TO MY FILIPINO FRIENDS:
Winning MU/MW/MI is a work of art.
Bea, Ara, Megan, Janine, Shamcey and Venus know how to craft it.
They experienced the winning formula.
Use their expertise.
