There's an ongoing tension between the two countries regarding the disputed islands in the Spratlys (in West Philippine Sea/South China Sea) which both claim as their own together with other countries. If politics prevail over the merits of beauty pageants held in either countries, then I don't the point in sending its respective candidates. I do hope that what happened to Quennie is just an oversight from the organizers at MW.
