Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Final Prediction

My final prediction for MUP 2022:

1. MAKATI - Michelle Dee, 27
I still believe Michelle is the one. While people keep fixating on her personality and lack of energy on stage, I see great improvement and determination to come back for a bigger win. She was in my Top5 for all three preliminary sections and I’m pretty assured that she will be the next Filipino to shine on Miss Universe stage.

2. BOHOL - Pauline Amelinckx, 26
As someone who already competed at MUP and bagged 3rd RU, Pauline aims at nothing less than the crown this year. With her experience she becomes an easy standout, but for some reason, something isn’t quite there for me. Nevertheless, she’ll definitely give whoever wins a run for her money.

3. MISAMIS ORIENTAL - Annabelle McDonnell, 21
Annabelle became one of my sentimental favorites right after the prelims interview. The way she spoke reminded me of Cat and I wonder why ppl would say she lacked authenticity just because she prepared for it. Commendable stage presence overall. Hope to see her in Top5.

4. PASAY - Celeste Cortesi, 24
Celeste has proved that she deserves all the hype. Her preliminary performance was impeccable so anything other than Top5 will be an injustice. Her Achilles’ heel is, as has been pointed out a lot, her interview, which is why I end up putting her here.

5. CEBU CITY - Chantal Schmidt, 20
Honestly, I am not 100% convinced of this one. Somehow I feel Chantal might be the major upset, a pleasant one though, during the final. She surely had her presence felt at the prelims, though there’s always room for improvement. Given more years to grow, she may come back much more competitive.

Top10: Albay, Davao del Norte, Cebu Province, Taguig, Baguio

Top16: Laguna, Iloilo City, Palawan, Davao del Sur, Mandaue, Iloilo Province

My bet is Pauline of Bohol but my gut feel is that the judges may lean towards the most prepared candidate if the Miss Universe would be held tomorrow. The refreshingly gorgeous Pasay might be it. Her interview skills have obviously improved. Unlike 4 years ago, Celeste can now speak her mind well that is she can elaborate with conviction. Bohol is also a shoo in for the crown but her body isn’t pageant-ready. However, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed. She could sweat out the extra baby fat at the gym. She’s facially stunning and an eloquently engaging speaker.
