By dragging ME in comparison to the unacceptable practices of its elder counterpart rubs painfully on the sensibilities of those who try most often to defend ME from scathing remarks by those who dislike MEO and all that it represents. It is often this comparison thingy that stirs the emotion and starts wrecking havoc to the good intentions of those behind MEO.

I dont think its a failure. Miss Universe actually doesn't want too many countries to join. Why? More expenses, more security to worry about. I remember before someone said the same thing in Miss International. The more contestants the less time for them on stage like what happened in Miss World. Few seconds each candidates and that's it. Now, I think the failure they're talking about is diversity in Top 5. Hmmm... It's kinda relative to say that it's also not fair that you're the best 6th contestant overall but then you didn't enter the best 5 of your continent so the less stronger girl from other continent beat you to enter Top 15 or 20.
