PROBINSIYANA FACTOR

Postby pacifico falafoxy » Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:49 am

Just be reminded folks that the probinsiyana factor does not translate into Miss Universe crown. It has been proven many, many times in the past. That was the culture in the 90’s and early 20’s before Venus Raj, the dark ages of Philippine pageantry.
It was a blurred era. It was a huge disappointment.

Miss Universe has become competition of sophistication, elegance, showmanship, advocacy, empowerment, artistry, creativity, pageantry, etc. Pia and Catriona showed us all that. I agree, they did not use probinsiyana factor, aka beauty with humility. They showed beauty with confidence in many aspects of the theme.

MUP organizers need to consider that probinsiyana factor does not work at Miss Universe unless they want to go back to the dark ages of Philippine pageantry.

We’ll see that in the upcoming Miss Universe competition.

HA? Ganyan ba ka baba ang tingin mo sa people from the province? Have you been to Iloilo City? Are the winning factors you mentioned above exclusive only for beauty queens born and raised in Metro Manila or abroad? What do you mean when you say probinsyana factor? We came to know the back story of Rabiya (her struggles) after she won pero never did she use that para ma awa sa kanya ang mga judges and give her the crown in silver platter. I guess you misinterpreted it. The message is very clear and that is to INSPIRE people... Same as Pia joining 3 times in pageant and again it is to INSPIRE people yun lang yun. Different circumstances but the same gist.

And who told you that the selection committee judged or selected the winner based on probinsiyana factor???
Did you really watch the pageant?

And for your information Lolo Palakofox, it’s the people who witnessed Rabiya’s struggles ang nagpapatotoo sa social media ng mga information na nalaman mo.

What a stupid statement =;)) =;)) =;)) =;))

Huwag syang patabihin sa kanyang mga runners up. Nasasapawan at natatameme sya. Let her stand on her own para ma fully prepare sya even to crack for top 20. Pandemic this year. No Filipino audience to rally her.

You see when photographers do that, it means to say that the runners up are equally or more deserving of the title. The photographers caught their attention. Katulad yung kay Michelle, lagi syang hinahanap para tabihan sya, eh si Siga at Overconfident Queen maraming commitments kaya yun sabi na lang nya na in God's time, gagawin nya lahat yun. Baka gusto nyo isama nyo sa committment ni winner at tabihan sya yung lahat ng talunan, 40 plus of them. I don't see this point. You call her names name pero may pangalan sya talaga.

I know, its not your personality to do that because your so much sportsman being a volleyball player, you accept defeat and being a real beauty queen indeed but when you are left without a choice and being pushed to it, you are entitled for that crown. She was true to herself and to the Philippines.

I understand your sentiment, I know you enthusiastically wanted Miss Manila to win which I also believed she should have won Miss Universe Philippines because she's the total package- and to mention she hailed from Manila, a "CITY GIRL". Next year, I suggest you join MUP organization as part of the selection committee and let Miss Manila to join again.

Here's the link below to prove Miss Manila should have been crowned MUP 2020:

This thread is somewhat derogatory. Well, you’ve ignored the fact that Venus grew up in poverty and even had to defend herself to the Binibining Pilipinas organizers on her citizenship. The thing is, the winner of Miss Universe is a confident one. She is confident to talk about the real and true story of her life while reflecting on what she is planning to do for the present and future as a reigning queen. Being confident does not mean constantly bragging that you were once poor. In the case of Rabiya, it was her own supporters who are close to her who knew what she had went through, and at least she talked about her story.

Don’t get me wrong. I love Michele but she has shown that she isn’t ready to even represent the Philippines in Miss Universe just yet. The problem is that the thread starter is somewhat classist. I also believe that Miss Manila has a potential factor if she ever rejoins in the future. However, if you are using them against Rabiya, I think that is not right at all. Apparently, in your eyes, only people from rich families should win Miss Universe, because you think Rabiya is bragging about her story as a “provincial” woman.

Just so you know tandang from the imperial manila.

Gloria Diaz - Ilocos
Margie Moran - Manila
Pia Wurtzbach - Cagayan De Oro
Catriona Gray - born & raised in Australia, but proudly represented Albay
Venus Raj - Camarines Sur
Shamcey Supsup - General Santos
Janine Tugonon - Bataan
Ariella Arida - Laguna
Mary Jean Lastimosa - Davao
Maxine Medina - Quezon City
Rachel Peters - Camarines Sur
Gazini Ganados - Cebu
Rabiya Mateo - Iloilo

Now, who are dominating the battle for the crown?
And mind you, 3 out 4 of our Miss Universe titleholders are proud of their roots and being a “PROBINSIYANA”. Margie Moran even considered Davao her home for more than 20 years.
Your demeaning attack on “PROBINSIYANA” beauty queens, was never and will never be a factor in choosing a candidate to represent us in the international beauty pageant stage.

Only Margie and Maxine in those people mentioned come from Metro Manila. The rest came from other provinces although most, if not all of them, worked in Manila. However, the fact is that most of the girls are not even from Manila to begin with yet the thread starter is trying to give a nasty classist vibe.

Ano namang kagagahan ito? Ung mga runners-up ung minamanduan na mga photographers mki tabi sa winner. its not the other way around. Somebody call a doctor, please!

Most every one by now appreciates that Rabiya used to be a teacher/lecturer and guro in her previous job. It's all in the territory I'm afraid I had to say this. When you teach / lecture in front of learners you tend to go deeper and profound and come to grip with relatable terms to expound when students ask for further explanation. That separates the teacher from his students. I don't think it's intentional for Rabiya to do that. A teacher expresses not necessarily to impress but share wisdom with those under his tutelage. I've been there, done that. Guilty, (me!) but its something that flows naturally although to the uninitiated, it may sound kind'a off or "pedantic".

I trust Rabiya's trainers have pointed what needs improvement! I recall Rabiya had in one interview acknowledged this and said she will adjust and tone down the rhetoric in answering casual interviews.
