Missosology Timeless Beauty 2019 is...Eveylyn Namatovu of Uganda

Text and graphics by Drew Francisco

With a final score of 4.348, our Missosology Timeless Beauty 2019 winner is Evelyn Namatovu of Uganda!

For the first time in the history of Missosology Timeless Beauty, an ebony beauty wins the honorary title. She is also the second from the African continent to be proclaimed Missosology Timeless Beauty.

Beauty and timeless appeal: 4.500
Overall performance: 4.273
Global impact: 4.273
FINAL SCORE: 4.348

This shouldn't come as a surprise because Evelyn has topped the Timeless Beauty scoring from Top 25 to Top 10, and now, the Finals. Also, she was a heavy favorite during the Miss International beauty pageant for her unmistable class and finesse. Back then, she was the strongest among the African contingent and Missosology correspondents covering the Big5 pageant since Day 1 believed she was a worthy Miss International winner.

Evelyn was just perfect in every way during the Miss International finals, no wonder she bagged the Best in Swimsuit award. In a pageant that is highly criticized for not favoring African delegates, she beat the odds and made it to the Top 5. She might not have won the crown, finishing as 2nd runner-up, but Evelyn won the hearts of many for her inimitable charm and natural beauty. "Words can never be enough to describe the joy I have in my heart," Evelyn said after the finals.

Since then, it has been a busy career for Evelyn, even busier than most of the reigning queens, too. She was nominated at the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards, which is East Africa’s largest fashion event. She has been working with various organizations to promote entrepreneurship empowerment not just in Uganda, but around the African region, too. She was recently named as the entrepreneurial ambassador of the United Nations Association of Uganda.

Evelyn broke barriers and defied the conventional notion of beauty. She works hard, ans walks the talk. That is the essence of being a Timeless Beauty. Missosology.Org

Timeless Beauty 2019 1st runner-up is...

With a final score of 4.242, our Missosology Timeless Beauty 2019 1st runner-up is Paweensuda Drouin of Thailand.

Paweensuda first competed in Miss Earth in 2017. Back then, she was predicted to win and was even named as Missosology's people's choice winner. However, she faltered in the all-important "hashtag" and finished in the Top 8. On that same year, she finished 6th in Missosology Timeless Beauty. "This is not the end of my journey, in fact it has only just begun," Paweensuda posted on Instagram weeks after the Miss Earth finals.

Beauty and timeless appeal: 4.182
Overall performance: 3.864
Global impact: 4.682
FINAL SCORE: 4.242

True enough, Paweensuda came back stronger than ever, en route to bagging the Miss Universe Thailand 2019 title. The win cemented her front-runner status in the Miss Universe 2019 competition. After the respective victory of Thailand in Miss International and Miss Supranational last year, Paweensuda was poised to further cement their dominance in pageantry with a Miss Universe win.

She breezed through the early rounds of the competition, but the Q&A woes continued to haunt her. Despite not making it to the Top 3, Paweesuda has left an indelible mark in the pageant scene. Missosology.Org

Timeless Beauty 2019 2nd runner-up is...

With a final score of 4.152, our Missosology Timeless Beauty 2019 2nd runner-up is Nellys Pimentel of Puerto Rico.

After struggling to place in the Miss Earth semis the past years, it looked like the island of Puerto Rico found a gem. Nellys was in all aspects ready to win the crown for her country even before she set foot in the Philippines. "With her strong stage presence and stunning face, she will definitely be up there come finale," we said in our first hot picks.

Beauty and timeless appeal: 3.864
Overall performance: 4.364
Global impact: 4.227
FINAL SCORE: 4.152

And Nellys, indeed, made it all the way to the top to clinch Puerto Rico's first Miss Earth crown. It was no easy feat as the 2019 batch was considered one of the strongest group of candidates the Miss Earth pageant had in years. Not only that, her victory made Puerto Rico the second country to win all the Big5 major titles.

"Becoming Miss Earth 2019 means much more than a crown. It means gaining a bigger voice to address environmental issues in a way that create change," Nellys said in her Instagram account days after winning. We admire a beauty queen who is not only persevering, but also empowered. That makes her a Timeless Beauty in her own right. Missosology.Org

Timeless Beauty 2019 3rd runner-up is...

With a final score of 4.136, our Missosology Timeless Beauty 2019 3rd runner-up is Suman Rao of India.

From the moment she appeared in the Rajasthan auditions of Femina Miss India 2019, we knew this lady was in it to win it. Her beauty, aura and charm were undeniable. Her towering beauty and engaging communication skills all played to her advantage. With India having the most number of Miss World wins at six crowns (tied with Venezuela), she was definitely a major force come the Big5 pageant.

Beauty and timeless appeal: 4.136
Overall performance: 4.136
Global impact: 4.136
FINAL SCORE: 4.136

Throughout the Miss World 2019 competition, Suman displayed elegance and dominance. In a year where the competition did not seem to have one major standout, we thought Suman could give India its 7th Miss World title. In fact, she was outstanding during the final interview.

"I come from a community where the rules of women are restricted. In fact my mother has faced a lot. She has faced all the odds of our community. Still she raised me, she allowed me to follow my own dreams, to follow my path, to just be what I want to be and that's what make me able to be an independent woman at this age where other women in my community are still struggling to have equal rights."

She might not have won the Miss World crown, but Suman has surely inspired many other women out there to speak out and fight for their rights. Missosology.Org

Timeless Beauty 2019 4th runner-up is...

With a final score of 4.106, our Missosology Timeless Beauty 2019 4th runner-up is Anntonia Porsild of Thailand.

"It still feels like a dream and I cannot believe that I have made it this far," posted Annotnia on her Instagram account days after she was crowned Miss Supranational Thailand in September 2019. Little did she know it was the start of a journey of a lifetime for her.

Beauty and timeless appeal: 3.909
Overall performance: 4.227
Global impact: 4.182
FINAL SCORE: 4.106

The 23-year-old Thai-Danish beauty was a heavy favorite even before she arrived in Poland for the annual Miss Supranational contest. Her academic background in advertising and public relations surely came in handy as she was one of the well-spoken delegates in the competition.

"If we can encourage each other and inspire one another to look at those aspects of one another (beyond the physical appearance), the world could be a much better place and everyone would be happier." These were the words that sealed the deal for Anntonia during the finale, making her the first from Thailand to win the Miss Supranational crown. We look forward to her reign that inspires positive changes in the world. Missosology.Org

I am so happy I could cry a river of tears!!!

I love my MI girls and wished to to see them in the Top 25 and Top 10, but I was getting more nervous when they slowly got eliminated, especially my dearest Bint.

Thank you to all the judges and the Missosology VIPs who were part of the judging panel from the prelims, to quarterfinals to semifinals! And of course, thank you to the final judges who have unanimously chosen Evelyn as the ultimate winner.

Thank you HARAYA for the passion in spearheading this annual spectacle!

The finals judges gave an unfairly low score to Nellys in Beauty and Timeless Appeal. Again, they will be proven wrong just like the way, they did not recognize the beauty of Ponkan last year. Second runner up for Nellys is okay but to get 3.8 in beauty as compared to others, that is, for me, unfair. Maybe the photos used are not good even the photos by Misso.

The 90s were an inspiration in music and fashion. Women in power, confident and beautiful. @sergiohudson killed it in his debut for #NYFW2020. Truly thankful for this opportunity. Loving this look.
