I hope they still prioritize on BEAUTY even though many indicate otherwise, because theres plenty of average girls with tremendous speaking skills better than the current Miss Universe.

In regards to speaking skills I rather listen to profound speakers than average speaking beauty queens.
Speaking skills are only entertaining if you have girls like Catriona who go beyond whats expected , other than that Q&A is only entertaining when they fail or when they are corny. Lets be honest basic/predictable speaking skills are a tad boring. Pageants are entertainment for Filipinos, lose this fundamental then you will see pageants sink.

I guess if she lacks in beauty but really exotic and a standout, then that's fine too.

When it comes to beauty its subjective.

I really do wanna see a morena or oriental Filipina like Mutya Datul for example to win the next crown, it would be refreshing! even though Caucasian owned pageants indicate they prefer Mestiza because people tend to "LOVE" themselves. But its not about what they like all the time, we have to inspire others in our community, even if we don't get a nod from these foreigners or that International crown.

And lets not copy current American trends, like token status, sob story and victim mentality in crowing a women, we Filipinos may have been victimized in the past but we are not victims because of it, we are actually stronger because of it. I rather a Morena never win a crown rather than win because of being "black/dark" its very disrespectful and belittling.

It's ironic how people gave hell to basic Filipina Morena in the past, yet if it was said about another nations Morena they same people call it racist, I believe Filipinas don't have that "token" privilege thus we cant get away with what others can. And why in the first place should we crown basic Morenas when we actually have some nice ones.


Pageants should be there to represent the Filipina ideals, never mind about what others do because firstly we are crowning a FILIPINA not a foreigner.

Binibining Pilipinas opens a new era with a bigger and better edition of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the country.

The search is on once again for a new batch of queens who will carry the name of the Philippines across the globe and cement its status as a powerhouse in international pageants.

Interested applicants have until January 31, 2020 to submit their application forms. They will then go through a rigorous screening process courtesy of the esteemed BPCI executive committee that will culminate on February 6.
