Today was the day to meet these artisans of the Amazon who live in the Community of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro (Vila do Acajatuba), within the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve. These women harvest the seeds of the forest (seeds of açaí, morototó, mauve, jarina, among others) from various adjacent communities and do the whole process of preparing these seeds for the preparation of biojoias. It's a totally sustainable work of art developed within the Amazon, showing that riverside women can develop business, keeping forest standing! Riverine lives also matter!
