Miss Earth or Miss International?

Postby Legendary Shaymin » Mon Aug 06, 2012 12:55 pm

Two pageants which are always interchangeably put into 3rd and 4th place in the Big 4 Pageants. Which do you think is better in general, be it on selection of winners, publicity, advocacy, staging, production and everything,

Re: Miss Earth or Miss International?

I choose Miss Earth by a landslide.
Miss Earth is still a growing pageant yet it's branches are extending all throughout the world. Miss Earth national pageants in each countries are starting to arouse for over the past 5 years, while Miss International has only few national pageants. Simply, ME winners have a reign while MI winners don't. Miss Earth has more than 80+ contestants participating while Miss International has 70- contestants yearly.

I think the flaws of Miss Earth are cheap production and ignoring deserving contestants while racism to African contestants is becoming a tradition at Miss International.

Now, if you want to participate at Miss International and your country doesn't have a national director, all you need to do is e-mail them and you`ll be automatically at the roster.

Miss Earth. It has a credible and worthy cause. Although there are many aspects that need to be improved these are outweighed by the pageant's drive to save the environment. Miss International has its long running history to be proud of other than that not much else.

Well, I might have to see it on both sides.
Just look at how those Miss Philippines's made to the Top4 when they were not even considered beautiful AGAIN and AGAIN. I think Miss International has done much better in selecting decent Top3. And Miss International attracts more better-looking contestants even though the number of entries is not as big as that of Miss Earth.
However, when it comes to overall production, maybe Miss Earth did present better shows and the exposure of reigning titleholders is high.
Generally, I will have to say I choose MI, but ME could work on it and make it a more credit-worthy pageant.

MISS EARTH!!! :!!

WHY?

* winner gets to do something true to and coherent with the cause of the pageant during reign
* more national winners competing and not just mere runners-up of world and universe counterparts (though quality is sometimes questionable)
* contestants seem to always have a wonderful and memorable pageant experience
* relevant and worthy cause
* activities, competitions, and show format are more exciting in general
* beautiful and meaningful crown
* though very young, already considered one of the major leagues of pageants in the planet (reps are crowned or declared together with universe, world, and international counterparts...where are the ones for supra and TQI again?)
* deserving queens (based on overall ME criteria)

WHY NOT?

* lousy TV and stage production plus interpreters that suck (though better than no interpreters at all)
* tendency to snob super-beauties (with attitude problem?)
* biased in favor of the likes of athena imperial (need i say more?)

AND WHY MISS INTERNATIONAL?

* consistently crowns uber-gorgeous and deserving queens, except, maybe, in 2010 (mosquera)...then that's it. the queen will be back next year to crown her successor.

I would say Miss International. The winner of MI is always a gorgeous girl and the semifinalists are usually very good looking too, although, there has been some exception like China in 2010, but overall, the top3 is usually amazing, unlike in ME. Production wise for both pageants need an upgrade asap. The advocacy is clearly more defined in ME, but I wouldnt really considered cleaning up the dirt and planting trees in the Philippines as an amazing cause. It needs work there as well.

Overall, MI wins for me.

Miss Earth also crowned super gorgeous girls just like in 2002(Bosnia & Herzegovina), 2004, 2005 , 2006, 2010. Usually the top 4 consists of super beautiful girls except for 1 or 2. Just like in 2007 (Miss Canada) but she nailed the final question and interviews, 2008 (Miss Philippines) but she is a decent winner but her beauty can't compete with the likes of Nicole Faria and Alexandria Braun, 2011 (Miss Philippines) is a Big No No to me.... Miss Earth 2007 deserved her crown but I wanted Miss Spain to be the winner. Miss Earth 2008 winner should be Miss Spain, Miss Mexico, or Miss Colombia but Miss Philippines gave the best answer, In Miss Earth 2011, Miss Philippines should not be included in the top 4 instead Miss Mexico or Miss Czech Republic should have been crowned Miss Earth-Water.... This is just my opinion... God Bless. :=p :-*

Miss Universe usually focuses mainly on facial beauty recently just like in 2002-2005. I don't get 2006 ( the catwalk is fierce and the gown is stunning and captivating) but facial beauty? Japan, Mexico and Switzerland are miles better when it comes to facial beauty , 2007 (the flowy gown is so refreshing to look at especially in motion) but facial beauty? Korea (best Korean delegate so far), Angola(oozing with sex appeal), Venezuela (an upgrade after last year's disaster), and 2009 although Stefania's transformation is like an ugly duckling turned to a very beautiful swan but if we based the winner on that night alone, Dominican Republic or Kosovo wins :7 ... Miss World crowns girls who are kind-hearted, sweet, demure, and reserved girls just like in 2009 Kaiane and 2010 Alexandria. For me Miss World usually crowns the wrong girls!Remember 2005? Iceland is beautiful but the gown is disastorus! Mexico or Puerto deserves the crown better than her! In 2009, Mexico is a run-away winner! No competition at all! Kaiane? BIGGEST MISTAKE ever!!! I don't see any transformation from her or any extraordinary feature... 2010? Are they serious? Botswana or Venezuela could have been an amazing winner... This is just my opinion... :)>-

[size=150][[b][i][color=#800080]Miss Earth. BUT they need an overhaul in selecting top 16, choosing interpreters, and production (camera focusing). OTHERWISE, good in general. The only advantage of ME over MI is that, ME is staged in english.

Miss Earth - 1 million percent. More relevant than Miss International. More countries than Miss International. More popular than Miss International.

Miss Earth.

I like this thread. Whoever made this probably wants to show Miss International is better than Miss Earth. But instead, it clearly shows Miss Earth is way better than Miss International.

This thread is just making Miss Earth more popular, more important and more relevant
