Unsporty humans can't accept their bet wasn't included.
Well for me, pick a panel of pageant experts from every continents to give their opinions and bets coz the voice of missosology isn't credible at all.
The girls who come from the country who got the most number of users in misso will surely leads. And same girls will appear in every week, no changes will be made..

I think this is because of the thread entitled "patawa ba ang hotpicks"
Just because Queenie wasn't included the list became a joke?

Let the PAGEANT EXPERTS and Predictionists handle this, and see who's credible or not after the BIG 4! those who are accurate or near accurate gets a rating or promotion like PE 1 or 2 so on...and those who failed miserably be demoted to Pageant Apprentice or Pageant Expert Trainee.

It would be a daunting task to tabulate 63,426 (number of members) votes in order to satisfy the ideology that the Hot Picks should represent the whole Missosology Community. And if a single vote is not accounted for, then the whole ideology would lose its purpose. If the current system is flawed (as for some), then it would contradict again the purpose if the current system would be expanded to a "larger" group of voters. It still doesn't represent the "whole" Missosology Community.

The system is there to serve as a representation - and this representation, as far as I know, is effective and is "tried 'n tested". :-D

What system is this? And is it working?

During MU 2009, I was given the task by an admin to handle the Fashion Expert Clan and with that responsibility, I was assigned to come up with a "Fashion Expert's List of Best and Worst". I tell you, it was hellish. PM'ing every single F.E, given that some are moderately to not at all active. Also, let's put into perspective that I have a deadline. So, I have to settle with Shark's, Milans, Nefarious, and my votes to represent the whole F.E. clan.

I can't say what the current system is (concerning the Hot Picks) but let's just say that I sympathize to what their system is. As I remember it accordingly, I asked my fellow F.E to give me their top 30 and bottom 30 (this is for me to be able to grasp a more accurate top 15 and bottom 15). Not to mention that every single style is given a rather quick yet precise commentary. And since I was still learning back then, as the one who was given the responsibility, I was obliterated by some of my "bosses" since the product was mediocre (even fell short of being mediocre it was a blah!). LOL! Nonetheless, I was able to practice and still am learning things to improve such. Anyway, that is just me, and what I am trying to point out is, if we want the Hot Picks to represent the whole Missosology Community then I think everyone should vote for their top 30. We have almost 65,000 members (including alternicks). And trying to tabulate every single vote is crazy. I assume that their system works like what I did before. But, to be honest, I don't know. :-D

It's really a tedious task. There must be a way where coordination is easier yet more representative and collective.

WHO CARES!!!! Seriously whomever is running the website can select whomever they want to help them formulate the Hot Picks. Frankly they are not that accurate and have no real meaning or bearing as to what happens anyway. It is just for fun and for the most part it is just a bunch of queens speculating on who will be the QUEEN! LOL

In any event, the hot picks are usually pretty obvious and safe choices and for the most part, many of us can identify the majority of the Top 15 or so girls in any pageant

I think Missosology should release two hotpicks regularly at the same time, one for the admins & experts (Official) while another one for the rest of them (People's Choice). this is applied to all big four pageants.

for the voting system, can we please adopt this?

I don't give this hot picks any fuss because I don't think there is anything valid in it. I would like to believe the choices those of just a few of us here, and considering that, "representation" may be the correct word. Missosology has to bring these hot pics into the open so it may maintain readership and popularity. As much as possible, it should aim for credibility, which these hot picks neither supports nor weakens.

I understand it, I think they are just giving some exposure to "not that known" girls, because it would be really boring if they would always choose the front runners and the most popular candidates. I think Misso Hotpicks Final List is the real deal, that's the most realistic picks ever. Misso Monthly/Weekly Hotpicks are just segways. Something like that.

Re: MISSOSOLOGY HOTPICKS

Postby Jedi » Sat Aug 04, 2012 6:11 pm

I usually anticipate for the FINAL hotpick of Missosology. Cause that's where they usually got it right, or the list is, in a way "believable." Just like last year, the Final Hotpick they put Ukraine (Olesya Stefanko) as their Miss Universe 2011, and Olesya ended up as first runner-up in Miss Universe 2011, and then comes the Final hotpick for Miss World 2011 and if I'm not mistaken they put Ivian Sarcos (Venezuela) as Miss World 2011 and they got it right. I can't remember who they put as their Final Hotpick for Miss International and Miss Earth, but I can remember that their picks made the cut in both pageants. So... Missosology is doing way... better in making their Final Hotpick, unlike the other website. ;/)) ;/)) ;/))

But for a suggestion, I think they should select a random of group of probably a hundred or so people as their pick for the first hotpick, and then another group of a hundred of people for the second hotpick and so on and so forth, but the final hotpick should come from the admins, or how they usually come up with the hotpicks. And by random, they could be missosologists, predictionists, P.E., B.E., F.E. etc. and also they should watch out for the alternicks for abvious reasons. So that every hotpicks we will have different outcomes, and in a way, it represents the "Missosology" for every hotpicks. :#)]

It can provide comparison to the actual results. It is also be a process where opinions of members are taken into consideration. I know that misso has not been 100% accurate in its predictions. But since this is a site that analyzes beauty, it should be transparent and collective.

There used to be polling before. I wonder what happened to it.

But with many Pinoy members here, it would be likely that Philippines will be in the hotpicks all the time.

I would like to believe the choices those of just a few of us here, and considering that, "representation" may be the correct word. Missosology has to bring these hot pics into the open so it may maintain readership and popularity. As much as possible, it should aim for credibility, which these hot picks neither supports nor weakens.

That's the point. It lacks validity.

Right on target baby!

MW Hotpick # 7 is a lot better. It's the same process though.
