Just because my English is flawless, right?

Albania is a great place to live, although people tend to be quite racist... And luckily noone wants the licence for Mcdonald's,
so fat people here are extremely rare. Cuisine is good, very mediterranean, but spiced with a charm of it's own. The place
is also full of history & the people are very strong after surviving so many empires. Although there is corruption in the political
arena obviously, the prices are quite cheap & satisfactory for people, economy is running great compared to other countries.

We also have the highest student number in the region, so there's lots of competition in general @ getting a job, but people
won't screw you over after you get one. This is how the beach life looks here:


The nightlife is awesome aswell, every town is packed with clubs & we've also got the youngest population in Europe:

Yes, that is the Kanun, when one kills your family member (if that occurs, which is rare) you have the ''right'' to
take out one of his, women on the other hand are untouchable. It's an ancient Illyrian tradition & it's said to date back to the
Bronze age, you can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanun. Other than that, it also has alot of rules
regarding respect, hospitality & ect., also marriage, that's why Albanians are one of the most homogeneous ethnic groups in Europe.

I don't quite understand why the locals I've talked to in Schweiz and in Italy are wary of the Albanian immigrants in their midst. Swiss nationals in Zurich and in Geneva regarded them as a "disgrace" and are opposed to the the Swiss government approval of immigration from Albania. I've personally met few Albanians in the southern port of Brindisi and in coastal Trieste to the north and they were helpful and friendly upon disembarkation. I've also had the chance to socialize with few Albanian nationals in Saudi Arabia particularly those attending Saudi universities in Riyadh on scholarship/fellowship grants. All of those that I've talked to seemed genuinely friendly. I was appalled to hear few European nationals talked ill about the Albanian diaspora in Europe. It didn't make sense to me.

Well that's probably stigma in Switzerland & Italy, immigrants from the Balkans aren't well regarded in general,
I guess it also has to do with the fact that some have been involved in crime & thus the generalization began. Albanians in general
are hardworking and very family-oriented people, not even mentioning our hospitality & other virtues, as you mentioned helpful & friendly.
European countries house alot of Albanian immigrants & the responses have been mixed, I myself live in Slovenia & I have always
gotten along with other people, plus considering the fact Albania itself was isolated for quite a few years, people, especially those that
emigrated were in desperate need of a better life out of communism. I have also heard about some stereotypes regarding strictness in
our families and us being exclusively endogamous (ofcourse, there have been cases of intermarriage), but well that's just part of our culture.

Thank you for coming to the defense of your people and for the clarification. It's a misunderstanding borne out of claustrophobic hatred by other nationals of unwelcome immigration from Albania. I've heard the worst -- thieves, pickpockets, prostitutes, of beggars and the filth, squalor and the pockets of violence that occur in the dirt-poor enclaves in the European capitals where the poor Albanian immigrants live.
