Is it better to live life following your heart, or following your mind?

Gudday everybody, Lets be honest, in todays world where there is cut throat competition, one survives on rational decisions made by the mind, it makes us questions like why what where when how etc etc..... But sometimes a calculative mind has no respects for emotions which a heart conveys and understands......
I choose decisions which a fusion of both coz a good heart will hav a good good decisions made my a sound mind. Thank you

Good day ladies and gentlemen, I would say that it is both because you cannot always say that following your heart will make your life worth living or vice versa. What matters most is how you translate happiness to other people and how it affects their lives and in return will reflect the better reason of our existence in this world...and that is real happiness which is within us. And what's within us is not only the heart but the brain also. Thank you!

I believe that it is better to live following our HEART. Following our mind will make us do things right. Following our heart will make us do the right thing. Our mind is placed higher to oversee while our heart is placed lower to understand. Our mind is for us to think while our heart is for us to feel. There are things in this world that even the most critical and analytic mind cannot explain but the heart was able to experience. In situations like this when our mind is in doubt, then it's time to consult our heart. That's all.

It is best to live life utilizing both heart and mind. However, the question requires a better option, so I choose living life following my brain. A decision guided by emotions is like a tunnel vision, you can't see the other consequences of your choice. But a decision that is made using the brain allows a person to think of the pros and cons of his/her choice. At the same time, the heart may control a person's emotion but the mind control his/her conscience. For me I rather do things following my conscience than my emotions.

I think there should not be a conflict in any way between the two. The brain is used to judge right from wrong, while the heart differentiates what you want, from what you desire. I think it is better to live life following your mind, because I think what your heart says about something might not be necessarily the right thing to do,, Our mind controls everything in us, it is the one that chooses whether we should do such a thing or not, It might be in some sort called the controller of your life because in everything we do we must consider all factors and by following your mind i think that it has an assurance because you can make a choice by analyzing first what's gonna happen afterwards..,And the choice we make will determine our life's path..,

I believe that a happy life should be a balance between emotions and reason. Life is a decision, and we make logical decisions through the mind to make our lives better. Therefore, mind should MOST OF THE TIME be followed. It depends on the situation, of course when you're in a work setting or school, you use your brain not your heart. And there should be a balance between the two. But no matter what, which ever takes the lead, it should be towards what is right and not harmful to yourself and to anyone else.

For me it is better to live life following my mind because for me my mind has an inner voice that seems to speak freely. I am separate part of my mind that can reason and converse with that inner voice. The inner voice belongs to the subconscious mind and humans are the conscious mind.

That inner voice is automatic and with a bit of practice you can observe and watch that inner voice, and ultimately come to the point where you are no longer controlled by it. You will be able to listen to it and use its constructive remarks and discard its destructive remarks.

By becoming aware of this inner voice and by being able to listen to your thoughts, you reach an entirely new level of consciousness where you can experience being present and living life in the moment, every moment.

Life is a balance of heart of mind. It cannot function well only using one thing. When we fully listen to heart, we will achieve extreme happiness and joy but we will not be aware of the consequences and the negatives it brings. From what I see, life is just like a daily journal and everything we write on it are the things we do and while we think and utilize everything using our brain it is only up to us to either follow what we have written for our own future or not. But If I were to pick one, I will definately follow my mind because whatever I do in life; I do it for myself and if I plan my future whether it is something that I might regret on doing it or not; in the end of the day it is me who I can bounce on and learn from my mistakes and experince then being emotionally attached to something.

Here's my answer:

We have the freedom to choose what we want. Therefore, you can follow either you heart or your brain. If you choose your heart, you should also consider those who are connected with you. Does your choice can help them and give them satisfactions? Or it will just lead to any disappointments? On the other hand, if you choose to follow your brain, it is your responsibility to take and accept all the possible consequences. At the end of the day, you will always be the product of your own choice, so learn to think wisely and think before you act.
