MGI vs international mainstream media (news & TV)

Postby ajsy0203 » Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:57 pm

Despite the 13 million views on Youtube at the recently concluded Miss G(rand) International 2022, the pageant did not air on any international & local mainstream television, and Isabella Menin's win has little impact on Brazilian media (maybe when Isabella returned to Brazil, that will be another story). Added to the insult was the lackluster mall show in the Philippines where Isabella, Roberta and the rest of MGI 2022 finalists (except Engfa) traveled together for an international tour.

In contrast, at Miss Earth 2022, Mina Sue Choi's win triggered lots of foreign media. Even in her own country, she was also celebrated by Hankook Ilbo (a major newspaper in South Korea), SBS, JBTC & Vogue Korea. Nadeen's Miss Water finish was also posted on different Arabic news sites including Vogue Arabia.

What is your reaction?

Real talk!

But actually I think Philippines also contributed to it as well as Vietnam and of course Thailand. These four countries are all pageant crazy. You know, even negative issues and backlash is counted as social engagement. So Vietnam and Philippines backlash still contributed much. And in fairness, Philippine media actually reports about MGI.

But ajsys, don’t you find it cringey comparing a major pageant to a minor one? Let them wallow on their shallowness. Even if they don’t acknowledge the fact you presented, we know that they already realized that eh?

Isabella Menin's win at MGI was apparently not well received by international media (unless someone posted a Brazilian news program that reported Isabella's win) unlike Mina Sue Choi's win at Miss Earth.

Philippine media actually reports about MGI: Yes but when it came to airing the pageant on any Philippine TV network is still no. The non-airing of MGI may had reflected on the low turnout of the mall show other than the Filipino pageant fans were already gave MGI (possibly MW & MS) the cold treatment.

Some netizens are pushing that airing the pageant on mainstream television is outdated, now the result of the MGI mall show's low turnout reflected on it aside from ALV's alleged mismanagement on his national franchises?

NBC, CBS, Fox, Associated Press, China Daily, SMPH, Chosun Ilbo, The Latin Times are some of the international mainstream media who recognize ME as part of the BIG FOUR of beauty pageant. Most of these media companies even considers ME as the most relevant because of it's advocacy.

Now compare that to beauty pageant pages like Global Beauties, The Crown Sisters, Critical Beauties, and IG pages (mostly created by Indonesian fans) that considers Miss Gr@nD International as an Alph@ Pageant.

I think the animated video about MGI shaded Philippines and Miss Universe could be the reason why mainstream media decided to ignore MGI and Isabella's win at the pageant despite their strong following and high number of views on the internet (which normally the criteria if a music video is a hit or not)? Maybe this was the reason why Korean media favored Mina Sue right now over Jenny in 2017 because Miss Korea Organization has a strong PR machinery unlike Miss Queen Korea Org.?

Tapos sasabihin nila na hindi importante ang international mainstream media? Ngayon nilangaw ang kanilang mall show.

Where is the source from legitimate Brazilian media (other than Fontes-related PR machinery)? I will appreciate it to show awareness.

Since there very minimal replies on her win at MGI 2022 thread after the final show, it only contained MGI mocked Miss Universe & Philippines, Miss Vietnam's being criticized & bashed by N that led to the cancellation of a sponsorship by a major sponsor for MGI 2023 & condemnation by several Vietnamese celebrities & beauty queens, Miss Mauritius' resignation as one of the 5th Runners-Up and Philippines' ascension as the new 5th Runner Up.

Hankook Ilbo is a major newspaper in South Korea. Mina Sue's win aired on SBS (one of the major free TV in South Korea) & JBTC News (one of major pay/cable TV in South Korea which produced The World of Unmarried).

Why so angry and affected? No one knows Miss Earth Queen? Funny but not true. Everytime they attack Miss Earth, they will use Karen and other Earth Queens. I dont know MGI Queens also, so that makes them unknown?

PATAWA KA, REAL TALK TALAGA?! LOL! WHILE STATING “ REAL TALK,” YOU PROVIDED FALSE STATEMENTS. THIS CONDUCT FITS THE MGI MOLD. I don't believe nobody watched Miss Earth when it was broadcast on free TV because I saw many people mention it on socials, may photos pa. Buying bots only to increase the number of followers and likes on MGI pages, however, is the most deliberately misleading practice there is. This is the most stupid thing somebody could possibly do; stop deluding yourself. Businesses and corporations are not as stupid as the MGI dumb followers. No matter how much you boasted about having the most followers and views on social media, you will never obtain a sponsor for this.

I saw on YT that someone recorded the A2Z version of Miss Earth 2022 which contained videos from the sponsor visits which is not included in the original livestream.

YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE YOUR RESEARCH MORE IT WAS REPORTED IN SEVERAL BR MEDIA. EVEN IN FOLHA SAN PAULO ONLINE AND PRINT EDITIONS. REAL TALK. THE ME Media broadcasting are not so popular and had delayed broadcast. Who would watch when the result is already out? It was shown in ALLTV --that gets 0 rating. The battle now is online as it streams real-time. MGI has gotten past ME in terms of popularity among REAL watchers and pageant watchers. REAL TALK.And yes, the number of pages for ME 202 is not a refelection of reality. ME is a local pageant--it should v=be wildly popular here-- but no --no one even knows the PgHilippine ME queens other than people in Misso, etc. While on the other hand Pia and Catriona are well known by most Pinoys. Carla henry who? Angela who--I might even goteen her name wrong and the other one often called Bakekang.

Di ba... tapos sasabihin na walang nanuod, may real talk pang nalalaman. Kaloka itung utak ng mga MGI fans, kung meron man.

Business or company sponsorships provided Miss Earth with a resounding amount of support. This reflects their perception of the ORG and its supporters. Followers who are real people. Hindi mga bots na binili, millions nga pero bots naman, LOL!

Yung MGI mall tour sa Pilipinas ang tunay na nilangaw, yung biglaang mall tour kay Nellys at Destiny sa Zamboanga ay dinumog talaga.

MGI number of IG followers suddenly dropped after Miss Vietnam failed to place in the Top 10 despite they won an important special award. Nawat threw "insults and shade" against MG Vietnam 2022 about her performance and body that led to condemnation from several Vietnamese queens and celebrities. Added to the insult is one of the major sponsors of MGI 2023 pulled out in support of the candidate.
