Miss Earth Thailand 2022 Press Conference
Mission for the Earth is a concept of Miss Earth Thailand Beauty Pageant new season 2022. A mission to understand the changes of natural environment and spread known knowledge to communities and individuals through eco-angels Miss Earth Thailand and elemental queen of Land, Water, Air and Fire.








Online apply July 9-31
MET 2022 receive crown and cash 500,000 THB (36 THB = 1 USD)
1-4 RU receive crown and cash 100,000 THB
Best Fashion Design receive 50,000 THB
20 Finalists will receive cash base on apply date
30,000 THB who apply 9-20 July

Just watched the press conference and what a way to kick-off Miss Earth Thailand 2022! Thanks bukita for the updates, and congratulations to Dr. Nong and the MET team.

Dr. Sirikan Onsonkran, the President of Miss Earth Thailand Organization held a press conference "A Road to Miss Earth Thailand 2022 yesterday evening (9July2022) at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok Hotel.

There were many guests of honor, people in the beauty industry and a large number of media attended at the event. During the press conference, there was a fashion show introducing Miss Earth Thailand Pageant 2022 in casual wears and swimwears modeled by former contestants of Miss Earth Thailand last year and Miss Earth Thailand Water 2021 joining on the catwalk.

Dr. Sirikan Onsonkran revealed during the press conference that
In the year 2022, the Miss Earth Thailand pageant is open to welcoming beautiful women with a heart to protect the environment to participate in the Miss Earth Thailand 2022 contest, to compete for the crown of honor again. Applications will be open from 9 July 2022 until 31 July 2022.

This year's contest will be a full face-to-face contest, which is definitely different from last year.
Dr. Sirikan asked the beautiful ladies who have heart to protect the environment please be prepare yourself to join in the pageant. We will fly to do pre-pageant activities in abroad. Dr. Sirikan said.
There will be also a special event that have never been done before. It will be considered a new phenomenon of the beauty pageant ever.

The winner of the title of Miss Earth Thailand will receive a crown worth 10,000,000 baht for a period of 1 year, including cash prizes worth 500,000 baht.
The runner-up prizes of Miss Earth Thailand elemental Land, Water, Air, and Fire will receive the title crown worth 2,000,000 baht for a period of 1 year. The prize includes a cash worth 100,000 baht. There are also additional winning prizes such as Best Fashion Design (From Trash to Treasure) will receive a cash prize of 50,000 baht and the last 20 finalists who apply within the first 10 days (apply within 9 – 20 July) will receive a prize of 30,000 baht each and if applying 10 days after (apply within 21 – 31 July) will receive a prize money of 10,000 baht by a condition that you have to complete activities with the contest until the final day of the Miss Earth Thailand competition 2022.

Qualifications of the contestants:-
1. Female by birth
2. Thai nationality, born in Thailand or has been changed to Thai nationality.
3. Having a height not less than 165 cm.
4. Aged between 18 - 28 years 11 months (those born between 1993 - 2003 (28 years old by the end of December 2022).
5. Good personality, good manners, intelligence, knowledgeable, good interpersonal skills and has a beautiful face.
6. Single, never married by law or tradition or any religious rites or ceremonies both at home and abroad, and has never had a child or was pregnant until or during the Miss Earth Thailand 2022 pageant, including during reigning as Miss Earth Thailand 2022 pageant (in case of being awarded the title).
7. Never had a criminal record or engage in illegal occupations or has behavior or a history of behavior that is offensive to society which will bring disgrace to the title of the Miss Earth Thailand 2022 contest.
8. Not engaging in prostitution or in any form, never participated in pornography whether by exhibition, publication, show on stage, television, movies or online media.
9. Not working as a porn model, receptionist, public relations in entertainment venues, or showgirl (except in motor shows) or the like.
10. Studying / or graduating Not lower than high school level or equivalent.
11. Having good health, free from serious contagious diseases or diseases that are disgusted by society and/or a disease that harmful to the beauty.
12. Having outstanding or obvious special abilities and good communication skills in Thai or other languages.
13. Having a good morality and ethics, including behavior that is suitable for being a good idol to the youth in society, not contrary to the national culture and related environmental issues in the country.
14. No contracts or obligations in writing that oppose to the pageant with any person or entity.
15. 20 contestants who have passed the final round must bring their application documents as specified by the pageant to show on the orientation day (date, time and place will be informed later).

that pesky lawsuit threat that doesn't have teeth (when a congressman singled her out when they use the
Thai flag as props for her pictorial).

Like for example Fahsai was really a great candidate for the crown back in 2017 but then again it's very obvious that she got lost during the Q and A Portion and totally murdered her chance to winning the crown.

In 2012 Waratthaya was a heavy favorite and won a lot of Pre Pageant events but her closed door interview made it impossible for her to be one of the semi finalist.

Just like 2010 and 2013, Baitong really did well it just so happened that they joined during a competitive year.

One thing i noticed with Thai Queens is that most of the time they focused more in one aspect of the competition and then lacking in some areas. Just to set an example Amanda ( MUT 2020 ) she has what it takes but she focused more on making an impact and statement with her lavish looks, arrivals and all, while Anchilee capitalizes on her advocacy which is not a bad thing but then again she got lost in the process, many people said that her non inclusion was because of her body but looking back at her preliminaries i would bet that Italy placed higher than her because of her performance.

Closer to home Fahsai became very relaxed and heavily relied on her being the "Favorite" and Oftentimes predicted as the winner.

I hope the organization focuses on what's lacking and balance it with what they are good at only by then we will see another Thai Queen walking away with the crown.

With that said, there was a MUTh candidate during Amanda's time that would be a TOTAL package for Miss Earth, I just forgot her name.

They can use Miss Earth as an added experience if they want to pursue their Miss Universe dream. The process and amount of preparation of the Queens in Miss Earth are almost the same as Miss Universe. You just don't have to have a perfect body and beauty, but brain must also be inherent in order for you advance and win the crown or place prominantly. Both pageants are looking for a Complete Queen.

Venus Raj (4th Runner -up) , Ariella Arida (3rd Runner-up), Fahsai (TOP5), Valeria Ayos (TOP5), now Celeste Cortesi and Telma Madeira are some of Miss Earth Queens who ventured into Miss Universe stage.

Baitong was my winner last year actually. I was really rooting for her. If the pageant was live, she could have placed higher or even won it all. I am really excited to see the line-up of Miss Earth Thailand this year. Hope the eventual winner will shake up my current TOP2 (Netherlands and Palestine).

Baitong will be a tough act to follow but I'm sure Thailand has a surplus of beauties that can eventually win them the crown. Maria Ehren would have been perfect since she is an environmentalist but she has aged out already. I can think of Emmy Sawyer in Amanda Obdam's MUT batch who is a good speaker and can be trained well for ME if she gives MET a try.
