ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS PAGEANT WILL CANCELLED??? MISS UNIVERSE 2020 WILL TAKE PLACE IN 2021???
Carlos C. Fernandez, a representative of the Miss Universe Organization, has informed the pageant´s national license holders that the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant won't happen earlier than the first quarter of 2021. It is not the first time that the Miss Universe pageant has been postponed,
remember that the 2016 edition, was held on 30 January 2017 (at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Metro Manila).

I'm hopeful that the event can be held in March or April next year. The uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic is cited as the reason for the postponement.

2020 has been a tragic year that has affected billions of people around the world. These are certainly unprecedented times for the entire world.
Many individuals have lost their jobs or become ill. Daily life has changed significantly as the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control has advised against large gatherings.
It's natural to feel out of control and worried over what's happening.

Pageantry is one of the many industry being hit by COVID-19 as our industry centers greatly on live events. This means you as a contestant may not be able to compete because your director has had to postpone or cancel this year's pageant. Your competition may look totally different than you had imagined if your pageant is now virtual. We feel for you and want to provide as many resources as possible in this time of chaos.

Miss World and Miss International pageants have been officially canceled. Given the high contagiousness of the disease and the epidemiology of COVID-19, this decision was appropriate and important in order to safeguard beauty queens and the public.

For the first time in history, Miss Earth crowned their new titleholders with a virtual coronation night on November 29, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Miss Supranational and Miss Grand Intl. have been postponed and their respective directors have not said anything.
There is also no official information from WME/IMG talent agency, but the selection of national queens continues in their respective countries. Around 47 delegates have been selected because Miss Universe continues to be the largest pageant in the world in terms of live TV coverage, airing yearly in more than 190 countries worldwide to an audience of over 500 million people.

Our great hope is that Pfizer vaccines will be distributed soon and the pandemic can be controlled.

The couple exchanged vows on last January 20, 2020, right as the sun was setting in the bride's home country of South Africa.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 (Hoa hau Hoan vu Viet Nam 2019), the 4th edition of Miss Universe Vietnam, hosted its grand coronation night on 7th December 2019 where forty-four delegates competed for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Vietnam in Miss Universe 2020.

At the end of the event finale, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van was crowned the new queen by Miss Universe Vietnam 2018 H’Hen Nie.

From Ho Chi Minh city, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van competed with sincerity and elegance at the national contest. Standing 5 ft. 9 in. tall (1,75 cm),
she was the epitome of grace and knew what she was doing as she won the crown defeating so many beautiful divas.

Not new to the pageantry, Van first participated in Miss Vietnam 2014 where she placed in the Top 40.
Then, she went on to participate in Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 but was only able to make it to the Top 10.

Nguyễn Khánh VânNguyen took to her social media to reveal her happiness in a post captioned:
“First of all, I would like to thank my parents and my family for always supporting me. I would like to express my thanks to all the uncles, brothers and sisters in BGK, BTC and the ekip
- the contestant management team, friends and students of Miss Hoan Vu Vietnam 2019.”

She also thanked everyone who helped her in her journey saying, “Thank you to the designers, the photographers, the cameraman, the make up team who have been with me all this time, we will continue to accompany each other on the way ahead.”

The newly crowned queen’s court included:
1st Runner-Up – Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen
Nguyen Huynh is 24 years of age and hails from Vietnam's southern Can Tho city.

2nd Runner-Up – Pham Hong Thuy Van
Pham is 26 years of age and hails from Ho Chi Minh City. She was also named the third runner-up of Miss International 2015

Other than the winner and her court, Top 5 comprised of Dao Thi Ha and Nguyen Thi Huong Ly.

MISS UNIVERSE VIETNAM
Nguyễn Khánh VânLike the 2017 edition, the competition was accompanied by a reality TV series called "I Am Miss Universe Vietnam"
in which the Top 60 contestants were put through challenges and training programs in each episode, and on the basis
of the performance during the show fifteen contestants were eliminated before the preliminary competition.
Top 44 contestants (one contestant withdrew before the preliminary competition) then moved on to participate in
the preliminary competition on 3rd December and the finale on 7th December.

The fifteen contestants who moved forward as the finale night began included Kieu Thi Thuy Hang, Luong Y Nhu, Pham Thi Anh Thu, Le Thu Trang, Nguyen Diana, Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen, Pham Hong Thuy Van, Le Hoang Phuong, Lam Thi Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Huong Ly, Vu Thi Hoa Lien, Vu Quynh Trang, Nguyen Dang Tuong Linh, Dao Thi Ha and Nguyen Tran Khanh Van.

No high heels, no fancy dress, just a traditional costume of "E de" ethnic group with a skirt and vest with colourful motifs. This is so precious and one of a kind, she still look beautiful in her final walk outfit. Last night also a queen was crowned by H'Hen Niê to represent Vietnam at the next Miss Universe pageant.

With the rampant spread of Covid-19, Miss Universe Organization advised the national franchises to designate their first runner-up of
the previous year’s edition for representing their respective countries at the 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020.
Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

Recently, Miss Universe Curaçao organization has appointed Chantal Wiertz as the official representative of Curaçao at Miss Universe 2020.
Chantal was the 1st Runner-Up at the Miss Universe Curaçao 2019 and was appreciated for her impressive and strong performance on-stage.

She has succeeded Miss Universe Belgium 2019 Angeline Flor Pua for the title and will now represent the country at Miss Universe 2020.

Hailing from Antwerp, Dhenia is 27-years-old and stands 5 ft. 9 in. (1,75 cm.), and works as a model and a makeup artist.
She is very excited to take over the crown duties as Miss Universe Belgium 2020 and start preparing for the finale. After the announcement was made on Miss Belgium’s official social media page, Dhenia took to her social media to share her sheer happiness on being the official representative of Belgium for Miss Universe 2020. (´･ω･`) Dhenia mentioned: “The word is out! I will proudly represent Belgium at the Miss Universe competition. Thank you all for the lovely support” Dhenia is not new to the world of beauty pageants as she was adjudged as the 2nd runner up at Miss Belgium 2018 and later represented the country at “Miss Supranational 2018”.
Also she competed in “Miss Tourism International 2014” and “Miss United Continents” in 2015 as well.

The pageant featured 32 candidates, while there were only 30 during the five previous elections.
During the evening gown competition part of the coronation night, Céline Van Ouytsel tripped on the hem of her dress causing her to fall on stage and even lost a bra which was inadvertently stuck in her long puffy sleeves. The fallen bra remained in the middle of the stage for a few minutes, and it was fully visible to the camera as the next contestant walked onstage. It was also reported that some finalists nearly fell in the stage during the swimsuit competition.

22-years-old Mirna Naiia Marić from Zadar has been crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2020 on March 12, 2020 in Zagreb.

The Miss Universe Croatia 2020 pageant was held without an audience for the first time at the HRT studios in the capital.
Mirna succeeds and was crowned by Mia Rkman Miss Universe Croatia 2019.

✤ She graduated from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zadar.

✤ Light brown hair and light brown eyes, Mirna stands 5 ft. 9 ¾ in. tall (1,77 cm.)

✤ Speaks fluent English and Italian.

✤ Most of all she loves art and design as well as painting and drawing. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and going to the gym as well as spending time with family and friends.

✤ She also receives a four-year scholarship to the Zagreb School of Economics and Management or MBA studies worth €20,000 euros.
