The venue of Miss International 2012 Pageant will be Okinawa, Japan.

On April 23rd, 6 previous contestants including 3 top winners visited Okinawa prefectural office building to take part in Official Press Conference in which they declare that the 52nd Miss International Beauty Pageant will be held in this beautiful island, this autumn.

Maria Fernanda Cornejo from Ecuador (Miss International 2011), Anagabriela Espinoza from Mexico (Miss International 2009), Alejandra Andreu (Miss International 2008), Yuan Siyi from China (2nd Runner-up for Miss International 2010), Etsuko Kanagae from Japan (Miss Elegant 2010), Nagomi Murayama (Miss International Japan 2011) appeared at the press conference event, before they visit many of beautiful tourist area.

Okinawa is the island of outstanding beautiful beach and individual culture different from Mainland, Japan.

GOOD NEWS FOR THE PHILIPPINES!!! WITH THE CURRENT CONFLICT WITH CHINA, NICOLE WOULD BE LEFT OUT IN THE SEMIS IF THE PAGEANT IS TO BE HELD IN ANY CHINESE TERRITORY.

Yeah that true - China is trying hard to make its own name to be recognized as powerhouse when it comes to beauty department by using its political power and influence and initiating or creating useless minor pageants and hosting them at the same time

Japan started it all that is the reason why they are the no.1 when it comes to rankings of placements at this particular pageant. Japan has strong ties with the Philippines. They fell in love with the Filipinos and our country that is why we were colonized by them before the USA or Americans and that is the reason also why the Philippines is number 2 behind them when it comes to Miss International pageant ranking. (check wikipedia for the entire ranking of countries since this pageant started). If Miss Universe will be held in USA, no doubt that the Philippines will place again because of our strong ties and friendship with the Americans. Philippines is the longest commonwealth of the USA compared to Puerto Rico and Cuba. It just happened that the Filipinos back them are so big headed and they decided to become independent. If that didn't happened maybe right now the Philippines is one of the USA official states - and belong to the First Nation Countries.What a regret!

i honestly dont get the relationship between japan hosting and the greater possibility of philippines winning. if the crown is for this country, whatever country hosts, the country gets it. rumors will only remain rumors until an established fact had been presented. it is refreshing though, to have the pageant return to its roots.

...and oh. tacky cape for miss cornejo. they could have do with the crown.

I like Japan better than China to be host for MI. Wow this would be great, we have sir Stephen as a correspondent, hehe.
